1954 issue molded very neatly in a beautiful gloss yellow plastic. The kit has not been started. All parts are still sealed in the factory bag. Includes instructions. Before the 1950s 'model building' never made the top 10 list of boy's activities. Hobbies were nothing new to America in the 1930s/40s, but they were not mainstream. Shortly after the turn of the century, many dedicated modelers built flying or static airplanes, ship, train, automotive or other subjects. Basic kits existed, but the majority of these models were built from scratch, which demanded a high talent level developed from years of experience. That changed in the early 1950s. The phenomenon of the Revell/Gowland & Gowland 'Highway Pioneers' car kits was a significant force in proving that model building as a hobby could have mass appeal, provided that the kits were easy enough to build and finish. These 1/32 scale vehicles could be built in an hour after dinner and looked much like the real car. The Highway Pioneers series lead to the production of other subjects in plastic and the effect was revolutionary. By the early 1960s, model building was the #1 past time of American boys.

Nicely done kit with detailed engine, removable hood, separately molded suspension and axles, full interior, spoke wheels, lanterns, dual side mount spares and tool box. Molded in light blue, clear, brass plate and with real rubber tires. The kit has never been started. NOTE: missing one very small engine detail part - looks like a pipe. Also missing one small, flat, rectangular lens for a lantern - can be made from flat clear stock. Otherwise inventoried with all other parts and instructions.

Very Rare and Very Large Kit. From the late 1950s or early 1960s. Approximatly 1/18 scale flying model aircraft kit with a 112.5 inch (9.375 foot) Wingspan and a overal length of 78 inches (6.5 foot). Designed for powered flight on 6 gasoline engines and control line. It was once popular to convert this kit to RC but great skill is required. Highly prefabricated kit of precut hardwood, precut plywood, precut and pre-shaped balsa, vacuform plastic canopies and blisters, completely prefabricated sprung main and nose metal landing gear with metal hubs and rubber tires. Includes metal hardware also. There are two very large sheets of full size plans. The kit has not been started. Inside is as new - parts are still wrapped in the factory Kyosho tape and the small parts are factory bagged. I ziplocked similar parts (like ribs) during the inventory for safe keeping. The kit is complete with all parts and plans. Plans are 'very good' with some wear and closed splits at the folded corners. Shipping insurance is required with this kit.

I was discussing this kit with the original manufacturer, and he told me that the molds for this kit have been destroyed, so no reissue is possible. This kit has never been started.
