This is a deluxe prefabricated model that features 3D cut fuselage and engine nacelles, 2D cut wings, injection-molded clear canopy and white plastic pilot bust, printwood, an excellent thick cardstock template sheet, a sealed tube of glue, full color decal sheet and more. Small scale kit with recessed panel lines, full landing gear and decals for Czech Air Lines. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions. Dubena was a Czechoslovak model manufacturer in the mid 1970s. They issued a total of 14 kits; eight were originally issued in the 1960s as bagged model by a still-unknown Czech manufacturer. Dubena aquired the molds, added two of their own (TWA Constellation and SE-210 Caravelle), added boxes and marketed them in the mid 1970s. 10 of the kits were injection molded Airliners in 1/230, 1/245 and 1/249 scale; they were the Fokker F-27, Lockheed Electra, Convair 880, Carvelle, Comet IV, DC-7B, Boeing 707, TU-104, Convair 440 and Lockheed Constellation TWA. The last four kits issued were all military, ex-Boleslav vacuformed kits of the Yak-15, Yak-17. LaGG-3 and LaGG-5.

1987 reissue from the original 1967 molds. It is a fine kit for that time featuring a 20" long hull, detailed superstructure 'island', movable cranes, optional position elevators, 20 SBDs and all of the correct parts to differentiate Yorktown from her sisters Enterprise and Hornet. The box art shows the wartime finish, but the kit contains decals for this or the prewar high-vis finish. It has been inventoried and all plastic parts and instructions are present. The decal sheet is present and in fine condition but NOTE: it is missing the ship draft marks and stern name; otherwise complete. The Yorktown was one of three prewar sister carriers along with Enterprise (CV-6) and Hornet (CV-8). The Yorktown saw extensive action in the Coral Sea and underwent temporary repairs in record time so she could take part in the Battle of Midway. Damaged by bombs and eventually a spread of submarine-fired 'Long Lance' torpedoes, she was lost after an epic struggle to save the ship.

Highly detailed and finely molded 1/700 scale waterline model that includes air wing. Never started. All parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions. IJN Taiyo began life as the NYK ocean liner Kasuga Maru. Kasuga Maru was one of a class of three Japanese ocean liners that were built for the Nippon Yusen K line. She was launched in September 1940 and saw very little or no service (accounts vary) as a transport before her conversion to the escort carrier Taiyo. Given the size and machinery of this class of liner, the IJN subsidized their construction and knew they would make fine escort carriers. The Taiyo went on to have a very active career. She was attacked many times and damaged several times. Taiyo was eventually sunk in a submarine attack in August 1944 with a heavy loss of life by the USS Rasher.
