Estes Bomarc Boost Glider - Level 4 Flying Model Rocket With Glide Recovery, MK-5

From about 1970. Very rare model of the most advanced of the early Bomarc kits. Listed as a 'Scale Flying Rocket' and it is very close to scale. This is the deluxe 'Citation' issue with full decals, metal-like stickers, two B-2 engines and a plastic nose cone that has been factory painted a copper metallic. The kit is 23 inches long when built and functions as a boost-glider. Initially it rises like a regular rocket. When the ejection charge fires, the motor 'tube' ejects out the back and floats down by parachute. The Bomarc, with it's new center of gravity, enters into a glide back to the recovery area. The kit has never been started. The small parts are still internal factory bag sealed and all other parts have been inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions.

Revell Great Britain issue from the 1970s. Hard to find. Well detailed and very nicely molded. Features all very fine recessed panel lines , full cockpit, complete engine detail with removable cowling, retracting landing gear, detailed gear wells, detailed cannon bay with cannons and removable access panels and optional position canopy. The model has never been started. NOTE: contains real rubber tires and does not include the usual plastic tires. Inventoried with all other parts, decals and instructions. NOTE: one decal (a hinomaru) is cut out from the sheet and that one decal is peeling. The rest of the decals are intact and are very good.

Bagged kit - no box. The box is shown for reference only. Very nice small scale kit from quality Nitto Kagaku molds. Features very fine all recessed panel lines, decals for three aircraft, optional skis and very nicely detailed cockpit. NOTE: civil fuselage halves have been very neatly assembled. Cockpit has been assembled - it goes into the fuselage through the hole for the wings. There is no other assembly and no painting. Inventoried complete with all parts including decals and instructions. NOTE: instrument panel decal is cut out and missing.

Very early issue from the 1950s with colorful Ray Gaedke hardbox artwork. This is the second issue of this kit for the USA, with added fine rivet detail and molded in silver and clear. The box has the rectangular Lindberg logo on the top but the four sides all have the original round Lindberg logo. Molded in very bright gloss silver and clear. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts decals and instructions. NOTE: the box has light insect damage to the top (as shown) and the sides. This kit started as a basic 1/48 scale model with full landing gear, rockets and bombs. Surface detail was minimal Lindberg modified it in the mid 1950s with extensive rivet detail. in the late 1950s, they modified it again to a motorized version with the batteries in the stand and a kit electric motor in the nose. Lindberg is a company with a fascinating history The original 'Lindberg Line' stretches back to the 1930s when Paul Lindberg drew plans for famous modeling magazines and marketed his balsa wood 'stick and tissue' by urging dealers to carry the '...Complete Lindberg Line'. This is the 1961 hardbox Picture Fleet issue, which is from the original molds of the 'Pre-S' kit from 1954. The Pre'S' Roosevelt was Revell's first aircraft carrier model. Very good kit of a straight-deck Midway class ship in the near-original configuration. Features early heavy AA battery and air wing. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including all parts, decals and instructions.

In the 1970s, MPC released the very popular Profile Series. Inside each box was a quality Airfix kit but with MPC decals to build any of the aircraft shown on the box top. In this case there are decals for four aircraft. Highly detailed kit with many working features. Has complete interior, opening bomb bay doors, full bomb bay detail and weapons load, moving control surfaces and optional position landing gear. The kit has never been started.
