Revell Bendix Talos US Navy Missile SAM-N-6 RIM-8 - 'S' Issue, 1/40, H1808-79

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

$145

First and only issue of this rare, large-scale kit. The hardbox is dated 1978 and has incredible artwork and the 'S' Cement logo on the sides. Aurora Convair VR XFY-1 Pogo, 1/48, 60

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG++

$155

1955 hardbox design. Please note the early Aurora rectangular logo, which was used from about 1953 to 1955. However, the factory has blacked out all the price extensions, so this one may be from around 1957/58. Rare, large scale model features working counter-rotating props and is molded in gloss silver and clear. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

Aurora The Barnstormers Customizing Kit DH-4 and JN-4 Jenny, 1/48, 200-198

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good+

$164

Rare one-and-only 1960 issue that contains both the DH-4 and Curtis JN-4 Jenny. Aurora really went out of the way to make this a special kit; however, it did not sell well and was retired after one year. Features completely new box artwork, a DH-4 molded in gloss dark green and black, the JN-4 molded in gloss bright yellow and black, great custom decal sheets for both aircraft and special 'Barnstormer' instructions for each aircraft. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts present and includes decals and instructions. Instructions are both in 'excellent+' condition and the decal sheets are both completely flat (no rolling) with typical age yellowing as the only flaw.

Revell Convair B-36 Giant Bomber - Pre-'S' Issue, 1/184, H205-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

$129

1954 issue of this classic kit. Molded in the correct gloss silver and clear and with the famous clear 'Revelving Swivel Base.' The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions. NOTE: the box would grade higher than 'excellent' but there is a very, very light stain below the front of the aircraft. It is difficult to see. This kit has an interesting history. The first issue came out in the 'short' hardbox that had the full version of this artwork with a port and ocean scene in the background. The first version also had the one-piece stand arm and the instructions that reflected that. The second issue had the same artwork, but with a completely different background that gave better contrast. There may be a 'one-piece' stand arm version in this revised artwork, but I have yet to see one.

Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions.

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM-

$145

First issue from 1958. The box is in superb 'Near Mint-' condition with like-new color and gloss, four solid corners, no price tags or tag marks, no tape or tape marks (other than the factory sealing tape), no fading and no litho tears. The only flaws are light surface wear (mainly on the sides) and edge wear. Molded in the correct white and olive drab plastic. Both models are well detailed. The Dart includes four missiles, one launcher, three stands, decals, one optical guidance unit and a crew of three. The Little John includes a detailed launcher with elevating rails, movable support legs, decals and crew of three. The kits have never been started. It could be pulled on its launcher or transported by helicopter. Length was 12 feet long and the warhead was atomic. The Dart was a very early, five foot long wire-guided anti-tank missile with a solid propellant rocket motor. An optical rangefinder was used for guidance.

The second issue carries the same full background box art but has the improved two piece stand arm and the instructions that reflect that. For the third issue, Revell made the box taller by .25 inches and improved the contrast of the artwork by adding a completely new and very light (yellow) background. This issue also had the two piece stand arm and instructions reflecting that.

Very rare kit from 2006. This is the only model made of this subject. The SM-84 was the replacement for the SM-79. It served well as a level bomber but did best in the intended torpedo role. SM-84s gave the Royal Navy a hard time in the Med, including torpedoing the battleship HMS Nelson. This is a nicely molded, limited-run model with all main injection molded parts and resin engines fronts. Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions.

Aurora Nike Hercules Missile - With Launching Platform MIM-14, 1/48, 379-129

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

$325

1958 first and only release. Large 1/48 scale missile includes an elevating launcher, many moving parts and a crew of four. Molded in the correct white and olive drab. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. The decals are in amazing 'near mint' condition and the instructions are 'excellent++.' The Aurora "Missile Line" is legendary. In the late 1950s, the first missile model kits sold briskly, so Aurora and Revell both planned extensive lines. However, the missile modeling craze disappeared as quickly as it started. Models that were in the works were canceled or completed if they were far enough along. Those that were completed, like the Nike Hercules, were fine efforts but sold poorly and had very short lives, making them rare collector items today.

Revell Cutty Sark Clipper Ship - 3 Feet Long, 1/96, H364-995

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Fair

$125

Rare first issue of this kit dated 1960. Large and highly detailed, measuring 36 inches long when built. This kit is the standard that other large-scale plastic sailing ships models are measured by. Since this is the first issue, the model has the factory painted copper hull below the waterline. The model features highly detailed deck, deck houses, cargo holds and removable covers, masts, yards and booms, bilge pump, windlass, 20 crew figure, lifeboats with oars, life preservers, anchors and anchor chains. With draftline and transom decals, figurehead, finely detailed hull, preformed ratlines and molded deadeyes, pin rails and blocks, full standing rigging instructions and diagrams and thread & chain for rigging. Molded in three colors - black, ivory/white and dark swirl wood tan. Inside, there has never been any assembly but NOTE: the bulwarks and outer raised white hull trim have been airbrushed white on both hull halves. While the work is neat (very good+ to excellent), there is white overspray on the factory copper paint. There is no other painting. The parts have been inventoried 100% complete and includes decals, color flag sheet, standing and running rigging line, chain and all assembly and rigging instructions. NOTE: the part numbers are off from the instruction book; I believe that the parts are from a later issue. I have also included a set of copied instructions that lines up perfectly with all of the part numbers on the trees.

It has been inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. Please note that the box looks slightly better than the 'good+' grade but is graded as such because there 1.25" x .7" section of litho missing on the left short side where a price tag was torn off. there is also other general wear and edge wear as shown.
