Pyro 1933 Bugatti Model 59 Grand Prix Racer Car, 1/32, C303

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Exc++

Sold

Still factory sealed. 1960s Pyro issue from original molds. In the early to mid 1960s the Pyro company chose many of it's kit subjects based more on historical significance than popularity. Luckily for us, Pyro not only made these kits but did an excellent job for the time. The Pyro car models are based on the actual cars that Pyro engineers and designers had access to. In some cases, the specific car and owner is on the box. The model includes colored injection molded parts, clear parts, detailed chassis, detailed engine, removable hood and complete interior. Ideal for slot car conversion.

Comet Boeing 707 Stratotanker (367-80 - Dash 80), 1/300, PL26-39

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG++

Sold

In the 1950s Comet made a beautiful line of small scale aircraft and missile models with colorful boxes. When Comet went out of business, these molds saw action for years with Aurora. This is the one-piece flip up box of the 'Stratotanker' - not really a tanker model at all, but a nice kit of the famous Dash-80 Prototype 707, the worlds first commercially-successful airliner. Well molded with fine recessed panel lines in 'In-Flight' configuration with stand and prototype decals (like the box artwork). Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.

Rogers Motor Company Studebaker M-29 C Weasel - Army Personnel and Cargo Carrier, 1/12, 29C

Multimedia Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

Sold

Rare, large 1/12 scale highly pre-fabricated kit from 1945. Very high quality wood and metal scale Weasel measuring 10.5 inches long when assembled. Features pre-cut and precarved hardwood parts for the main body and deck fittings, completely formed bogie wheels, die-cut fibre bogie chassis, numerous other very thick fibre parts, metal screen and metal stock as needed, complete interior, numerous other die cut parts, completely formed tread links, clear windshield, full decals and much more. Rogers spent a significant amount of time on the 'Photo-Plan' instructions, providing photos for each step and detailed text, full size plans and parts list. The kit has never been started. NOTE: the kit was missing 5 of 32 small wooden bogie wheels. I have put in 5 old new stock wooden wheels of the correct diameter from a 1940s aircraft kit. Inventoried with all other parts, decals and full instructions with plans. Rogers was an early producer of miniature gas engines for free-flight and early radio control model kits and often had large adds for these engines in hobby magazines. The full company name on the box is listed as 'Rogers Motor Company Detroit Michigan' and the 'Scale Model Division' is listed as Tawas City, Michigan. Right at the end of WWII, Rogers made a very short journey into kit manufacturing. As you would expect from an engine manufacturer, the kits were all true scale, highly prefabricated, had excellent detail and were fairly complicated. Rogers produced at least four kits - the M4 Sherman Tank, 40MM AA Gun and Carriage (1/16 scale), Army Weasel and LST. These kits were likely produced in that order, with the LST being released around late 1945/early 1946. I have seen several of these kits built and they make excellent displays.
