Pyro Golden Hind - The Ship of Sir Francis Drake, 365-50

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

One in series of many small scale ship kits that Pyro made in the late 1950s/60s. Measures about 5-6 inches long when assembled. On November 15, 1577, Sir Francis Drake sailed from Plymouth, England in the 'Golden Hind,' accompanied by four smaller vessels. At the time, the great nations of Europe were squabbling for a share of the treasures to be found in the New World. Because Drake intended to visit land already claimed by Spain and Portugal, he was reported to be on a long voyage of discovery. The voyage lasted almost three years and his small ship completely circled the globe before returning to England. When she returned, the 'Golden Hind' was loaded with ingot and jewels plundered from the rich Spanish settlements along the West coast of South America.

AMT-Hasegawa Boeing B-47E Stratojet - SAC (Hasegawa Molds), 1/72, A671-600

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

Sold

This kit is part of an early effort in the 1970s by AMT to market quality Hasegawa kits in the USA. Hasegawa made the kits and decals in Japan and shipped them to AMT, who supplied the boxes and marketing. Kit is very nicely detailed with fine panel detail, cockpit, open/closed bomb bay doors with internal iron bomb load, tail "stinger" and detailed landing gear with good well detail. The model has not been started. The parts are either in factory sealed bag(s) or inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. The B-47 was a very advanced aircraft at the time. The XB-47 first flew in 1947. The big jet's speed was equal to or greater than all current fighter aircraft, so it received radar-controlled twin 20mm cannons in the tail as the only guns. Through the use mid-air refueling, the B-47 gave SAC it's first all-jet force for nuclear or regular bomb delivery. Although it was tricky to fly, Stratojets flew into the mid 1960s. A program to strengthen the wings for low-level attack was responsible for prolonging the service life.

Conley Conley 120 (1.2 Cubic Inch Displacement) Four Stroke Engine (Later ABITAR Predator 424)

Metal Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+

Sold

Very rare engine in pristine condition. It has never been run. The engine is still in it's clear plastic holder (two halves) and includes the exhaust pipe which has never been put on. The engine is complete; nothing has been removed. When you open the box, the Conley three-color slick is glued to the inside of the box top. Paperwork includes a very nice Conley sticker sheet which includes 1.2 Cu. In. stickers among others, a large two color instruction manual for this engine that folds out to 6 pages, a Conley Questionnaire concerning this engine with a Conley Precision Engines return envelope, a limited warranty and parts sheet stamped '000276' (possibly a serial number) and a sheet describing idler and carburetor adjustment. This is the first US build four stroke model engine and it has an interesting history. Conley Engineering designed this for K&B. K&B dropped the program part way through, but Conley was able to convince K&B to let him take over. Conley produced the engine, and reportedly only about 300 were produced. Conley sold everything to Abatar. Abatar continued production for a few years then discontinued the engine. This engine must be shipped insured.
