Hasegawa Hikawa Maru- NYKK Pacific Ocean Liner, 1/700, 503-1000

1/700 scale waterline kit. Very highly detailed and finely molded. The kit has never been started. Internal factory sealed bag including decals and instructions. The Hikawa Maru was one of a class of three Japanese ocean liners that were built for the Nippon Yusen KK line. She was launched in September 1929 from her builder, the Yokohama Dock Company. Her two sisters did not survive the war. Hikawa Maru served as a Hospital Ship in WWII, survived the war, and is restored today and can be visited in Japan - she is one if not the only existing very early 1930s ocean liner.

Lindberg is a company with a fascinating history The original 'Lindberg Line' stretches back to the 1930s when Paul Lindberg drew plans for famous modeling magazines and marketed his balsa wood 'stick and tissue' by urging dealers to carry the '...Complete Lindberg Line'. From the late 1950s and rare in this condition. Classic motorized kit with over 100 moving parts. The box is one of the finest I have ever seen, with 'like new' color and gloss, four perfect original corners, no price tags or tag marks, no tape or tape marks and no missing litho. General light wear is the only flaw. When built, all major internal parts move via electric motor and spark plugs (red lights) flash in time. Inside, the kit is as it left the factory. All internal cardboard and cello display packing is present. Includes Renwal Guarantee/Parts order sheet, packing inspection ticket, Renwal catalog, instructions and original V-8 booklet. This kit has never been started. The clear, red, black and silver parts boxes are still factory tape sealed. In the small parts box, the original screwdriver and unopened Renwal glue is still present, and all parts are still factory sealed and stapled to box six.

36 inch long kit with fantastic detail. The Portland was a famous steamer of the Portland Steam Packet Corporation, which carried passenger and freight between Portland, Maine and Boston. On Thanksgiving night, 1898, she steamed into the strongest storm of the decade and was lost. The storm is still known at the 'Portland Gale.' Kit features extensive fittings cast in Britannia metal and brass, ornate photoetched brass paddle box covers, beautiful pre-carved Basswood hull, six full sized brass radials, all wooden parts required for the decks, superstructure, mast, etc, full sized plans provided by the Maine Maritime Museum and a large step-by-step instruction booklet. Never started. The large parts that were never factory sealed have been inventoried complete, while all small parts are still in factory sealed bags.

Third issue first appearing in about 1958 or '59 with the 'Famous Fighters logo and the Parents' Magazine seal. This is the ex-Helicopters for Industry kit; Aurora purchased these molds in 1955 and quickly reissued them with new box art in 1956. Features cockpit seats, control sticks and instrument panel, opening rear clamshells doors, opening side doors, geared rotating inter-meshing blades and decals for all four services. Molded in a beautiful, deep gloss blue and clear. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. This kit must be shipped insured. NOTE: The box would grade higher but there is a tape tear (from the factory tape) on the long lower side that extends up to the box top as shown in the photo. The decal sheet has a short closed tear.

Ideal Aeroplane & Supply RMS Queen Mary Ocean Liner- 32 Inch Long 'Super Detail' Issue, 1/380

This model is from 1938 and is Ideal's finest issue of the almost 32 inch long Queen Mary. It features an accurate, pre-carved solid wood hull, numerous cast metal fittings such as 24 lifeboats, stairs, winches, props, etc., 48 aluminum davits, assorted wooden stock, numerous neatly done printwood sheets, printed cardstock, sandpaper, funnel tubing, clear material for windows, glass bottles of Ideal lacquer, shellac and three jars of paint. The superb plans are full size and in 'excellent++' condition. The assembly procedure is detailed in writing and with the drawings. Sectional profiles are included as well as detail views. The kit has not been started. All small parts are still sealed in factory bags; the lifeboat bag has torn, but all 24 are present. All parts that are not sealed have been inventoried complete with the huge plans. Ideal was a famous producer of early model kits. In 1911 they released their first aircraft kit, which put them among the first USA model companies. Ideal was unique also in that they released large ocean liners, giving us the only big scale SS Normandie, SS America, Rex and RMS Queen Mary models ever made.
