Rare late 1950s hardbox issue of the first commercial 'Jet Prop'. Features all very fine raised surface detail and recessed control surface outlines, clear windows for the cabin and cockpit, optional position cabin doors, portable boarding stairs and more. Model includes a rare Continental add sheet for the Viscount which includes interior photos, engine cut away and more. This model has never been started and inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.

Rare early issue Hawk kit in the flip-top box. Hawk was a manufacturer of 1/48 constant scale solid wooden models well before plastic, but they jumped on the plastic band wagon very early. Most of the first issue 'flip box' plastic kits were 1/48 - this kit, however, is one of the earlier 1/72 scale kits from Hawk. The kit is molded in the correct silver with the early style stand and correct instructions and decals. Never started. Factory sealed bag or inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Thanks to Jean-Claude who told me that the boxart shows a standard F-84F but in reality the model inside is of prototype YF-96A, (aka YF-84F), s/n 49-2430. this aircraft was later modified to become the YRF-84F parasite fighter in combination with GRB-36F.It is on display at the USAF Museum, Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio.

First issue from the 1950s in the one-piece box. The box is in excellent condition. Inside, the kit parts are still sealed in the original factory crinkle bag. Molded in high gloss yellow and black. In the 1920s/30/s/40s Hawk made constant scale 1/48 aircraft kits from wood. In 1946 they added plastic injection molded kits to the line and were possibly the first injection molded kit manufacturer in the USA. When Hawk made an early jump to all-plastic kits they kept the 1/48 scale and created these new one-piece boxes with two color artwork. The model has not been started. Complete with instructions and all parts. This is from the early part of the first issue, and Hawk did not issue decals until later.

However, the company was innovative as it quickly included injection molded accessories. This model features profile (2D) cut wooden fuselage, wings and tail feathers, injection molded wheels, propeller & machine gun, wooden stock as needed, metal seat, full color decals and high quality, full-size plans that include a markings guide for various dates, detailed rigging diagrams, templates, exploded parts diagram, aircraft history and more. Never started and complete. The decals are intact but have typical age cracking.

Hawk kits were very complete and included metal details and superb quality drawings for the true scale enthusiast. This kit dates from 1944 and quite deluxe for the time. The side of the box mentions the railroad and ship Hawk kits and gives a rare look at the product line. The model contains 3D precarved wooden main fuselage, 2D wings and tails, fully finished propeller & wooden wheels, wooden stock as needed, full color decal sheet, heavy cardboard die-cut template sheet, sandpaper, special metal aircraft stand and full size, full-color well-detailed plans as well as an additional instructions sheet on how an aircraft works. The model has not been started and is complete.

Hawk kits were considered high quality and very complete for that time and often included metal or plastic details. very complete and included metal details and superb quality drawings for the true scale enthusiast. The side of this box shows photos of 4 other built-up Hawk aircraft kits and gives a rare look at the product line. The model features a 3D (three axis) cut fuselage, 2-D cut wings and tails, turned and completely finished hardwood spinner & wheels, fully finished propeller, sandpaper, wooden stock as needed, complete insignia sheet and excellent, well-detailed plans that include many templates and painting instructions. There is even another large fold-out instruction sheet with heavily illustrated text instructions for how to carve and build a solid scale model aircraft. Even the original Hawk factory packing tissue is present. The model has not been started and is 100% complete with all parts and paperwork. Please note that this kit is simply called the "Heinkel Fighter." From what what can tell, this is a He-112B, with the three-piece bubble canopy and probably the V-10 with the big undernose radiator scoop.

In 1960, Hawk released a series of 'New 2 Pack Kits', including 'Specials of the 1930s' (S6B and Mister Mulligan), 'Great Crates' (Spad and Nieuport), 'Freedom Fighters' (F-86F and Swift), 'Flying Leathernecks' (Marines AU-1 Corsair and F4D Skyray), 'Battling Bluejackets' (Corsair and SBD) and 'Terror Attackers' (Oka and V-1).

Rare 'Deluxe' issue from 1942 for the advanced collector. Hawk was one of the few manufacturers making wooden kits to a constant scale of 1/48. However, the company was innovative as it quickly included injection molded accessories. This model features 3D (three-axis) cut fuselage, profile (2D) cut wings and tail feathers, turned and finished hardwood engine cowl, plastic three blade propeller with the correct large spinner, fully finished wooden wheels, die-cut heavy cardstock template sheet for the fuselage and wings, sandpaper, a very nice metal display stand, complete insignia sheet, and an amazing full-color plan. All three views are in full color and this acts as a painting guide. The plans are in 'Excellent++' condition. Even includes the original factory packing tissue paper. Never started and complete.

Original issue hardbox; not a common reissue. In 1962, Bill Campbell thought that kids may be tired of the same old modeling subjects, and he created the Weird-Ohs. Of course it was not that simple - it never is. Please read Bill's own account of the Weird-Ohs, located on this website. Regardless of the path, the Weird-Ohs became an overnight sensation that helped launch the 'monster' and the 'figure' phase of modeling. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions.

Otherwise includes all other parts, decals and instructions.

Hawk Skykray F4-D Picture Gallery, 1/72, 708-69

Rare issue from the 1950s from the 'Picture Gallery' series. Includes the correctly early decals and the green tinted canopy. Bill Campbell explained to me that the artist producing the Picture Gallery series artwork had a heart attack and could not finish the assignment. Hawk had to switch artist in a hurry, and that is how Bill found his way to Hawk. Bill did the art from that point forward, making the limited issue PG boxes very desirable for collectors. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. NOTE: the instruction sheet is a quality photocopy of the original. NOTE: the box is only graded 'good' because there is significant bug damage on the side panels. The bugs ate away some of the litho but left the heavy cardboard behind it.
