Pyro Half Moon The Ship of Hendric Hudson, B366-75

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG++

Sold

1967 issue with great artwork. Half Moon is the famed ship that English mariner Henry Hudson sailed up the Hudson River in 1609. This nicely molded small scale ship model is full hull and includes very good molded in hull and deck detail, separately molded cannon, anchors & masts, billowing sails and more. A photo of the built kit serves as a rigging guide (as does the box art as well). Includes a display stand and name plate. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions. Hendric Hudson sailed for the Dutch to find a direct westward passage through the New World to the Indies. He entered New York Harbor in 1609 and continued up river. After 17 days he was convinced that this was not the route to the Indies. The following year, he sailed for the English with the same mission. Hudson sailed more northerly this time and discovered the great bay which now bears his name. His ship was frozen for the winter. When the spring thaw came, he tried to continue north but his crew mutinied and set him adrift in a small boat with his son and some crew members who did not join the mutiny. They disappeared forever among the ice flows of the Arctic. No trace was ever found. The crew returned to England to face trial.

Monogram AH-1 Huey Cobra Test Shot - Bagged, 1/72

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

Sold

This kit came from the collection of one of Monogram's finest and talented Chief Designers, the man who created the original B-52 kit, B-17, B-24J, P-36A, at least one if not all of the 1/8 scale Ford cars, A-1E Skyraider and numerous other famous kits. In his collection were boxes (usually Four-Star armor that had been damaged on the box-assembly machine) labeled 'TEST SHOTS' with his name on it. After designing the kit, he was still responsible for the entire program, or at least up to mass production. Test Shots were made near the end of the design process for the Chief Designer of that kit to inspect; if something was wrong, he ordered changed. If not, he would clear the kit for production. This is one of those kits. Ever notice that all of the Monogram Huey Cobras are molded in olive drab? Well, not this time! This test shot is molded in bright silver & clear plastic. It has never been started. The model is inventoried with all parts present. Like most test shots, there are no instructions or decals.

ITC German Graf Spee - Pocket Battleship Heavy Cruiser - Ringo Issue, 1/350, C-581-200

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good+

Sold

Large, 1/350 scale full hull kit. ITC issued this kit in 1961 and capitalized off the success of the movie about the Spee; however, ITC discontinued all larger plastic models in 1962 which makes this kit hard to find. When this happened, there was still a warehouse full of kits. ITC cleared out these kits under the name 'Ringo.' The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts and includes instructions. Like almost all Ringo kits, there are no decals. Some sources list this kit as 1/350 and others as 1/366; I leave it up to the collector or builder to decide which is correct.
