1972 'Big A' issue. This is a kit from Aurora's excellent efforts of the late 1960s/early 1970s. Aurora realized their 1950s molds were outclassed and by the late 60s cut a new series of molds including several ships and helicopters. They were high quality, but it was too few kits and too late for their reputation. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

Very rare original issue from 1966 that is still in the factory seal. The box is still 'Mint' but I have graded the kit 'Sealed NM' overall because there is a section of the seal missing on the back upper left and left long side. The rest of the seal is strong and intact. There is no creasing from stacking or other storage flaws. Shipping insurance is required.

The actual model is finely cast from high-definition resin and is superior in detail to injection molding. The main hull and larger parts are resin and there are many cast metal details as well. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes instructions. WSW stood for 'Wings Ships and Wheels' and all production was in Germany. To ship modelers world-wide they are best know for their superb line of 1/700 models, many of which are still the only kit available for that subject.

Nicely detailed full hull kit that measures over 22 inches long when assembled. Features updated island structure, Sea Sparrow launchers, three Phalanx close in weapon systems and airwing of F-14, A-6, EA-6B, F/A-18 and S-3 Aircraft and SH-3 Seaking helicopters. The large decal sheet includes extensive deck markings and aircraft decals.
