Otaki Kawasaki Ki-48 Type 99 'Lily' - With Action Features, 1/90

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG++

The box is in 'very good++' condition with great color and gloss, no fading, no split corners, no tape, one price tag on a short side and no repairs. The model features some wonderful engineering. When you move the antenna on the fuselage top (like a pilots control stick), you move the ailerons and elevator as if in flight! There is a tiny wheel on the bottom of the fuselage; when you move it, both landing gear retract and extend. Also, the wheels rotate and the props spins. Inside, the kit is as it left the factory. It is molded in dark green, black and clear and all parts and decals are still sealed in the factory bag. Complete with instructions, which are also excellent.

O-Lin Knight Twister Sport Plane, 1/48, 304

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

Sold

A rare kit for the advanced collector. This is a very hard-to-fine original O-line kit in the small one-piece box and advertisement for O-line cement on the top. Produced in 1949 or just before. Molded in high-gloss dark blue with a display stand. The model has not been started. Inside, it is as new. The small parts are still sealed in the factory 'krinkle' bag. The parts that were never sealed have been inventoried 100% complete including instructions. The instructions are on the back and O-Lin did not issue decals with this kit. O-Lin (Olin) was founded by Paul Lindberg and a Mr. Olsen - hence the company name. Although a producer of flying models in the 1930s, O-line produced some of the earliest American injection molded kits in the late 1940s. In 1950 the partnership may have ended, because all branding was changed to Lindberg and Paul Lindberg. The Knight Twister origins began in 1928 with a teacher named Vernon Payne. In an attempt to make his aircraft repair and aeronautics classes more interesting, the class designed a minimum-size sport aircraft. Construction soon began, and even Popular Aviation ran a series of articles on it. The aircraft was first flown in the fall of 1932 and was a complete success. The design is still considered exceptional and still built by sport enthusiast.
