Sold

Very rare. Highly detailed scale model with RE-14 motor drive. Includes a novel, well-engineered and correctly hidden metal drive box with gears and transaxle for drive on both rear wheels. The batteries are cleverly hidden under the front seat. Kit features detailed scale engine, removable hood, full frame and detailed underside, complete suspension, front wheels that can be turned, full interior, opening doors and more. To minimize or eliminate painting, Bandai molded this kit in gloss white, red, gray, black, clear, brass plate, nickel plate and with rubber tires, metal parts, flexible drive lines and more. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes instructions.

Bandai 1907 Bianchi Motorized, 1/16, 38065

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+

Sold

Rare, large-scale motorized kit that is highly detailed. Has an incredible drive system: the RE260 motor is neatly and completely hidden in the scale engine; it turns a gearbox consisting of a pinion and three gears. The drive output goes into the manual transmission, which is actually shifted with the scale lever in the interior. The driveshaft exits the gear box and goes to the rear transaxle where it drives the two rear wheels. When the engine is running, the exposed valve push rods go up and down. Naturally there are many metal parts involved and the batteries are cleverly hidden. The steering works from the steering wheel. The kit features a detailed, scale engine, rolling chassis construction just like the actual car, full suspension and exhaust details, ignition wiring and flexible water hose, removable hood, fully detailed interior, opening doors, opening luggage trunk, brake levers with linkage and more. Beautifully molded in dark green, wood tan, gray, black, clear, brass plate, rubber tires, many metal parts, ignition wire, hose material and more. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions.

Aurora Piper Apache, 1/64, 280-50

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

Sold

1963 issue and still the only injection molded Apache kit. From ex-Comet molds. Features all recessed panel lines, clear windows, rotating propellers and color decals. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Aurora had started a line of inexpensive 29 cent kits in about 1957. The line was a success, and it was expanded. The line grew again when Aurora purchased the Comet molds, as most of Comet's line was very small scale kits, many of them civil aircraft like this one. It appears that Aurora was encouraged by the sale of the ex-Comet civil aircraft, as it expanded the line with it's own molds in the early 1960s.

Lindberg Japanese Zero Motorized, 1/48, 304M-100

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM

Sold

First motorized issue from the late 1950s with hardbox artwork by Ray Gaedke. This kit is in rare 'Near Mint' investment-grade condition. The box has like new color and gloss, four solid corners, no tape or price tags, no tape or tag marks, no fading, tears or missing litho. The only flaw is light general wear. Molded in silver and clear. The kit has never been started. The motor parts are still sealed in the factory bag and the other parts have been inventoried complete including decals and instructions present. The meticulously researched box art scene may be of particular interest to admirers of Mr. Gaedke's work. The colorful aircraft combines with abrightly painted, grassy background, including a well turned out (Army) ground crewman, to produce an almost storybook, 'beautiful day in theneighborhood' atmosphere. A most attractive and, in an historical context, almost whimsical image. Lindberg is a company with a fascinating history The original 'Lindberg Line' stretches back to the 1930s when Paul Lindberg drew plans for famous modeling magazines and marketed his balsa wood 'stick and tissue' by urging dealers to carry the '...Complete Lindberg Line'. After the war, Lindberg and Olsen had a strong hand in early United States injection molded kit development. Please see the article located on this website about early USA plastic kit manufacturers.
