Hawk Northrop P-61 Black Widow Solid Wood Kit With Maircraft Detail Parts and Clear Canopies, 1/48

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

Sold

For the advanced Hawk collector. Hawk was one of the few manufacturers making wooden kits to a constant scale of 1/48 as far back as the late 1920s. However, the company was innovative as it quickly included injection molded accessories in the late 1930s. This kit is from 1944. Almost all Hawk kits were put in colorful but generic boxes and the name of the model was stamped on the side - but the large 1/48 P-61 got it's own large box and special artwork! Contains cut-out wooden main airframe sections , decals, full sized plans, templates for wings and fuselage cross-section shapes, turned and shaped cowlings and two injection molded propellers. NOTE: Also includes the following Maircraft P-61 Black Widow Deluxe Kit parts: rubber tire set, metal landing gear struts, cast metal propellers and engine fronts, vacuform clear canopy set (3 canopies, one neatly taped off with the frames primed), decals, templates and two large, superb sets of plans. NOTE: this kit has minor work done in addition to the canopy frames: the fuselage has been taken to 80% of final shape and the job done is 'very good.' Inventoried and with the Maircraft kit, this model is 100% complete. Without it, the Hawk kit is missing the wheels and one prop blade.

Lindberg Boeing 2707-200 SST / 491-60 Concorde SST TWA Airlines / 408-50 Boeing 707 Lufthansa, 492-60

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good- to Good+

Sold

SALE!! Includes all three kits but not collectible- please read carefully. The first kit is the small scale proposed US SST, in about 1/500 scale. The Boeing SST was modeled here in the second (-200) variant which still had the swing-wing design which proved impractical in this aircraft. The kit includes wings for both take-off and cruise configurations. The damaging effects of sonic booms over population centers ultimately contributed to the cancellation of the project. Never started and includes all plastic parts but NOTE: missing decals and instructions. The Concorde is about 1/270 scale and includes all plastic parts and TWA decals but NOTE: missing instructions. The Lufthansa 707 is about 1/210 scale and has never been started, includes all plastic parts and decals but NOTE: missing instructions. All three kits are missing the instructions but they are so simple you do not need them to assemble the models.

Sold

Comet Piper Cub J-3 - 25.5 inch Wingspan Gas or Rubber Powered Wooden Aircraft (J3), 1623

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

Sold

From the early to mid 1970s. Large scale issue for rubber or gas free flight, or easily converted to RC using today's tiny and light servos and receivers. Box art is by Locher, who did a great deal of the Monogram box artwork also. Kit features traditional wood/tissue construction with all die cut parts, 'Tube-O-Matic' fuselage construction and 'Rugged Super X Simplified Non-Warping Wing' construction, colorful insignia sheet for civil or US Army versions, detailed full size plans with building instructions, die-cut printwood, factory-cut stripwood with leading and trailing wing edges, fully formed and finished wooden main and tail wheels & thrust button, hardware, tissue and plastic propeller. Never started and inventoried complete. Comet was a famous manufacturer of stick and tissue flying and static models. In the 1930s Great Depression, they lead the low-priced kit revolution with the "Dime Scale" kits and famous advertisements in Model Airplane News magazine and others. Comet reached it's peak in the 1930s when they acquired the services of Carl Goldberg. Goldberg was a highly accomplished modeler with articles in Model Airplane News and famous designs that won him several National level competitions in the 1930s and beyond. (Carl Goldberg went on to found his own company and produced well designed and popular free-flight and RC aircraft). Comet survived the post World War economic slump and continued kit production until they were bought out by long-time competitor Guillow's in 1998.
