From about 1967. Hardbox issue. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions. In addition to cars, ships, planes and figures, Pyro added an excellent line of well-known and not-so-well-known life-sized (1/1) scale pistol and rifle models to their line. In each case Pyro gained access to the actual weapon during the kit design, insuring a very accurate model. This one is a 21 inch long copy of the Miquelet used in Spanish Morocco between 1610 and 1875. The lock was made in Spain, while the barrel and the ornamented stock were made by the North African and Arabian craftsmen.

Very, very rare model of high quality. This is the only 1/48 kit ever made of the Butcher Bird prototype. Features complete resin cockpit, optional opened or closed canopy, separately molded ailerons, detailed engine, separately molded cowl flaps, color painting guide and full decals. There are very high quality cast resin main parts with recessed panel lines, a fret of nickel photo-etched parts and a vacuform canopy that is in great condition (not scratched, no yellowing). The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Please NOTE that this issue builds only the early version; Legato has the 'late version' on the instructions also. Additionally, Legato shows the parts layout for the late version; and those parts are also in many of the assembly steps also. Many of the parts for the early version are very different! This made it a real challenge to inventory but I am convinced it is complete.

Rare first issue from 1964. Very large 1/8 scale kit with traditional high Monogram quality and detail. The 'Four Star' issue box was the first and only one to display this fantastic artwork. Features include: opening and closing doors, windows that roll up and down with the cranks, front wheels steer from the steering wheel, operational front spring suspension, full engine detail with carbs, spark plugs, ignition wires, cooling system hoses, brake fluid reservoirs and plated valve covers. Includes hollow real rubber whitewall tires and plated knock-off wire wheels. Molded in a beautiful high gloss red, silver, black, clear, red-tinted clear and with chrome plated parts and real rubber whitewall tires. Chrome is in 'excellent+" condition. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried 100% complete with all parts (the small bag of metal parts are still factory sealed), 2 decal sheets and instructions. The box has clear tape, general wear, splits and other flaws but is complete. NOTE: one red window frame has a clean break and fits back together perfectly for an easy fix. S25, a silver 'water pipe' has a clean break and is an easy fix. I almost did not see it, but the hood has a closed crack; it is very hard to detect. It is a very easy fix (from the back) and I have taped it together so the crack cannot grow. The decals have light bug damage to the backing paper only; the actual transfers are in 'excellent+' condition and the instruction book is 'near mint.' Even includes the Monogram XK-E Guarantee Sheet.

1953 early issue molded in bright red plastic. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory 'krinkle' sealed bag and includes instructions. Before the 1950s 'model building' never made the top 10 list of boy's activities. Hobbies were nothing new to America in the 1930s/40s, but they were not mainstream. Shortly after the turn of the century, many dedicated modelers built flying or static airplanes, ship, train, automotive or other subjects. Basic kits existed, but the majority of these models were built from scratch, which demanded a high talent level developed from years of experience. That changed in the early 1950s. The phenomenon of the Revell/Gowland & Gowland 'Highway Pioneers' car kits was a significant force in proving that model building as a hobby could have mass appeal, provided that the kits were easy enough to build and finish. These 1/32 scale vehicles could be built in an hour after dinner and looked much like the real car. The Highway Pioneers series lead to the production of other subjects in plastic and the effect was revolutionary. By the early 1960s, model building was the #1 past time of American boys.
