Very rare and especially in this condition. Original friction-drive promotional model in a stunning Metallic Marina Aqua and Metallic Atlantis Aqua two tone scheme. One-owner model was obtained new in 1965 in Lexington, KY by a very discriminating adult collector. The box is original and stamped with "MARLIN by Rambler Met Marina Aqua Met Atlantis Aqua". The model has perfect color and gloss. Tires are perfect (never rolled) and it has never even been displayed. The chrome is in factory new condition; even the hood ornament is present. I would grade this model a 9.9 out of 10, with 10 being flawless. The only thing holding back the '10' is that I hesitate to call anything flawless.

Mid 1960s stick-and-tissue flying model with special 'Auto Magic Pilot' feature and 22 inch wingspan. Can be built for scale static display, rubber free-flight or gas powered control line or Auto Magic Pilot, where the aircraft flies by itself on a tether and maintains level flight. Features full size plans, many sheets of die-cut balsa wood parts, main spars, stringers, tissue, completely formed and painted wooden wheels, die-cut plywood parts, clear material for windows, vacuformed cowl and other parts, steel pre-shaped landing gear strut and full decals. Full size plans are included with highly detailed text instructions also. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts including decals and instructions. Sterling was a famous manufacturer dating back to the 1930/40s flying model craze. Although they continued to produce kits for decades after the flying model slump following World War II, they eventually fell victim to the general lack of interest in modeling that occurred in the early 1980s. I always considered Sterling kits to be deluxe kits as they had the action features and were much nicer than most other kits of this type.

Older kit that is designed to operate in water. Measures 10 inches long when assembled. Features a metal weight to achieve neutral buoyancy, movable diving planes and a rubber band motor with winding handle. The kit is molded in dark brown/gray (above the waterline) and dark red (below the waterline). Includes a static display stand also. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes instructions. Ro-55 was a K6 Kaichu Type medium submarine. She was launched on April 23, 1944 and commanded by LtCdr Suwa. On January 27, 1945 Ro-55 departed Kure on her first war patrol west of Mindoro. On February 2, Suwa reports being attacked by aircraft. That was the last communication received. On February 7, RO-55 attempted to attack a convoy os hips headed for Leyte Gulf where she was probably sunk by USS THOMASON (DE 203). in a hedge-hog attack just before midnight.

The Boeing SST was modeled here in the second (-200) variant which still had the swing-wing design which proved impractical in this aircraft. The damaging effects of sonic booms over population centers ultimately contributed to the cancellation of the project. Nicely molded with all recessed panel lines. The model has excellent color and gloss with no age spots. Tires are perfect (never rolled or played with) and it has never even been displayed. The chrome is factory-new condition. There is zero body warp and the clear is like new. I would grade this model a 9.8 out of 10, with 10 being flawless.

Excellent kit of this free-flight or R/C design for .049 or .1 gas engines. This aircraft originated in Air Trails magazine in January 1941 and the original designer was Paul Plecan. Kit features factory die-cut ribs, many parts cut to shape, balsa stock, metal stock and hardware, sheet balsa and full size plans. The kit has never been started. The parts that were factory sealed are still in the sealed bags. The parts that were not factory sealed have been inventoried complete including plans/instructions.

Very rare; normally you only see the coupe version and not the convertible. This one is in amazing condition also. It is a one-owner model was obtained new on January 2, 1963 in Lexington KY at Welgo Department Store for 98 cents. The model has never even been displayed. The Coral and Bronze paint has factory new color and gloss. There is no warping of the body or other parts. The chrome is intact. The front bumper is 'excellent' and the rear is 'very good' because it has some of the typical 'crinkle' defect. A Pillar and vent frames are mint, as well as the clear. I would grade this one a 9 out of 10, with the rear bumper being responsible for the deduction. It would be hard to find a better all-original example with the correct box.
