Fantastic Cold War Box art. KVZ was the logo used by this East German kit manufacturer from 1969 to 1973. During this time, some unique Cold War kits were produced of Russian Airliners and Military Helicopters and Aircraft. Large and colorful decal sheet is in excellent condition. The kit is molded in white, clear, silver and black and includes full landing gear and a large display stand. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts, decals, stand and instructions. Please note that the box art is Interflug, but the kit decals are for Aeroflot.

Dated 1960. True first issue with 'Famous Fighters' in the oval border and the 198 price extension. Large 1/48 scale kit with fantastic Jo Kotula artwork. For that time it was a well detailed kit with good cockpit detail, three stations and crew and rotating propellers. Molded in black and clear with the correct clear two piece stand with a triangle 'World' base. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.

1968 hardbox issue. Includes electric motor for the propeller - the batteries are stored under the stand. This model is made from the original 1950s molds. For it's time, this was an excellent kit with fine panel and rivet detail. Features crew of two and seats, separately molded rudder and flap/ailerons, four small wing load bombs and a center bomb with 'swing arm' so that it would clear the prop in a dive. This kit has never been started. The motor is still in the internally sealed factory bag and all plastic parts have been inventoried 100% complete with decals and instructions. Lindberg is a company with a fascinating history The original 'Lindberg Line' stretches back to the 1930s when Paul Lindberg drew plans for famous modeling magazines and marketed his balsa wood 'stick and tissue' by urging dealers to carry the '...Complete Lindberg Line'. The plans are dated 1939. This kit is part of Ideal's famous '12 Inch' series of ship models with the composition molded hull. This eliminated all the work of forming the hull from a block of wood. This hull is in perfect condition with no warping or chips. Also includes two sheets of printwood parts, bamboo strips, full plans/instructions which include rigging diagrams. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes the plans/instructions. The box is very fragile and damaged, missing one inner flap (of four) but including both end flaps. The parts are still wrapped in the plans exactly as they left the factory; the plans have age wear and light damage to the corners and short tears on some long sides. Overall they are 'good' and certainly fine enough to use if you choose to build the model.

From the 1960s. Can be flown rubber free flight, gas free flight, or converted to electric RC using modern servos and receivers. A very nice kit featuring die cut balsa parts, die-cut plywood firewall, completely finished wheels, plastic propeller, vacuform nose, rubber motor, hardware, clear window material, very large decal sheet, colored tissue and excellent full size plans. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Guillow's founder, Paul K. Guillow, was a WWI naval aviator. In 1926 he began producing wooden model airplane kits. His 'Shelf Models' were some of the earlier non-flying models in production. Guillow's grew during the model boom of the 1930s, and when the Depression hit the hardest, Guillow's responded with lower prices and became one of the low price leaders, frequently advertising in Model Airplane News and other leading publications. During the war, like most manufacturers, Guillow's was forced to alternative materials such as cardboard and pine. Guillow's survived the post WWII slump by creating many inexpensive profile flying rubber powered aircraft and gliders in the 1950s (along with North Pacific) which became famous - some are still available today. The stick and tissue lines have been updated with laser cut parts and are still in production as of 2009.

From 1946. Part of the famous 24 inch wingspan rubber-band powered flying kits. Features print wood, pre-cut stringers, spars, wood stock, preformed wheels, very nicely pre-carved wooden propeller blank (needs sanding to complete), tissue paper and full size plans. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including plans. Fred Megow was a famous pioneer in the model aircraft field from the late 1920s and a very early manufacture for HO scale trains in the 1930s. His product lines of semi-prefabricated, solid and stick and tissue kits won him national and extensive world wide distribution - possibly the first modern model manufacture to achieve this. His fascinating story involves trying novel and untested marketing ideas in the Great Depression, followed my explosive world-wide growth. Mr. Megow was a true pioneer in the early days of modeling and a leader in the low price field so that every boy could afford a kit during those difficult times. Megow also produced scale operating train and trackside kits, ship models (large and small) and automotive subjects. Megow's catalogs claim that they were pioneers in HO scale, and there is documentation to support this fact. Megow's early HO train kits served not only to promote this now-popular scale nationally, but were among the very first train kits. Model train kits were responsible for the explosion in model railroad popularity in the late 1930s - please see the article in this website about these kits.

Rare. Kit features full interior, molded-in underside detail and can be built one of four different ways. Optional parts include luggage rack, exhaust extensions, fender skirts, radio antennas, roll bar, spotlights, hood air scoop, rear view mirrors, tachometer, boot cover, choice of four different wheel covers, spinners, extensive decals in 'excellent++' condition and large plated Mercedes emblem. This is not a high piece count kit. Molded in a beautiful gloss deep red, white, clear ('excellent+' condition), chrome plate (excellent++' condition) and with rubber whitewall wheels. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Please NOTE that the windshield frame has broken off, typical of this kit. All parts are present and it is a straight-forward repair, especially if you use the windshield as an 'inner frame.'
