Sterling F4U-5 Corsair Launches Rockets in Flight - 24 inch Wingspan for RC - (F4U5), A14-398

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed NM

Sold

Still factory sealed. Purchased new in 1967 in Cleveland, OH. This kit is part of Sterling's expensive big-wingspan series that was designed for R/C and also includes numerous extra parts for control line operation. Can also be flown free-flight. Very nicely produced stick-and-tissue model that features high quality die-cut balsa sheet parts, stripwood and spars, fully formed wire landing gear struts, finished wheels, other wood and metal stock as required, many light plastic detail parts, vacuformed plastic canopy, rubber motor, plastic prop, a big set of decals, coving tissue and excellent full size plans with detailed instructions. Sterling was a famous manufacturer dating back to the 1930/40s flying model craze. Although they continued to produce kits for decades after the flying model slump following World War II, they eventually fell victim to the general lack of interest in modeling that occurred in the early 1980s. I always considered Sterling kits to be deluxe kits as they had the action features and included everything needed to complete the model.

Features high quality die-cut balsa sheet parts, stripwood and spars, fully formed wire landing gear struts, finished wheels, other wood and metal stock as required, light plastic full engine cowl, pilot bust and other details, beautiful clear vacuformed one-piece canopy (still mint not yellowed), rubber motor, plastic prop, a big set of full color decals, coving tissue and excellent full size plans with detailed instructions. Never started and complete. Sterling was a famous manufacturer dating back to the 1930/40s flying model craze. Jo-Han 1962 Oldsmobile Super 88 Four Door Hardtop Promo, 1/25

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

Sold

Rare promo. I would grade this one a 7 out of 10, with 10 being mint. The paint is excellent, but the roof has been repainted. Wheels are mint (never played with) and the chrome is excellent. The car is complete, but there is a tiny chip out of the back window upper reveal molding as shown. With repair of this chip and a roof repaint it would grade 8.5 or higher. The box is an original Jo-Han box but it is NOT original to this model.

AMT 1960 Ford Galaxie Starliner Convertible Promo With Original Box, 1/25

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Fair

Sold

Rare, all-original, friction-drive promo in the original box. The box end flap is stamped for this exact model. The car is complete. However it is far from mint because the paint has age wear as shown (spotting) and is thin in sections. The box is only 'fair.' The cardboard is intact and would grade 'good' but the clear plastic is mostly unglued and part of it is missing.
