Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

Sold

This kit includes a sealed bag of aftermarket wooden coach seats and a cast metal toilet and sink. During the golden era of realistic train models, La Belle Woodworking Company created perhaps the very finest scale kits of early American passenger equipment. The kit features die cut hardwood parts (no balsa) such as pre-cut and scribed sides with all windows and doors factory cut, car ends done in the same fashion, carved clerestory roof, green-tinted clear clerestory window material, full underside details, metal details, building instructions and full size plans. I have seen these models built and they look identical to the real prototypes. NOTE: the car sides have been built. Quality of construction is 'excellent' but not absolutely perfect (not mint). There is no other assembly. The kit is complete with all parts and plans. Please read the article on this website about older HO train kits and the modeling revolution they caused in the late 1930s/1940s.

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

Sold

From the mid 1960s, but from older molds. The only larger scale kit of this classic car. Edsel Ford himself sketched the design for the large V-12 equipped convertible with the assistance of Bob Gregory. The cars were incredibly popular. This was likely due to good looks and not the power plant; it made only 125 hp and was always troublesome. Good kit for it's time with detailed engine, removable hood and convertible top, and molded in blue, clear, chrome and with real rubber tires. Never started. Factory sealed bag or inventoried 100% complete with all parts and instructions.

Hawk Supermarine Swift K-4 - One Piece Box Issue, 1/72, 607

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc+

Sold

Rare one-piece 'flip top' box issue from the late 1940s/early 1950s. Very cleanly molded kit that builds very nicely. Molded in the correct gloss silver with green-tinted clear canopy. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions. The Swift was a very early jet fighter to replace the Supermarine Attacker. A very capable aircraft, the Swift suffered numerous accidents early on. As a result, less than 200 were ever built and it did not see combat. It did hold a world speed record for a short time, only to have a Douglas Skyray take the record a few hours later. The problems were ironed out, but by then the Hawker Hunter was proving very capable and there was no need for the Swift and it's RAF service life was short. The most successful version was the PR variant.
