Comet North American NA-35 (Vega 35) - 17 1/8 inch Wingspan For Free Flight, 3301

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Exc+

$42

Still factory sealed. Dated 1963 on the plans but this issue is from the early to mid 1970s. Stick and tissue kit can be powered by rubber or electric, or built for static display. Kit features traditional construction techniques with quality, die-cut balsa sheet parts, stripwood, fully formed wheels, spars and wood stock as required, fully formed wire landing gear, rubber motor, plastic prop, wood thrust button, clear material for windscreens, insignia, covering tissue and detailed, full-size plans and building instructions. Comet was a famous manufacturer of stick and tissue flying and static models. In the 1930s Great Depression, they lead the low-priced kit revolution with the "Dime Scale" kits and famous advertisements in Model Airplane News magazine and others. Comet reached it's peak in the 1930s when they acquired the services of Carl Goldberg. Goldberg was a highly accomplished modeler with articles in Model Airplane News and famous designs that won him several National level competitions in the 1930s and beyond. (Carl Goldberg went on to found his own company and produced well designed and popular free-flight and RC aircraft). Comet survived the post World War economic slump and continued kit production until they were bought out by long-time competitor Guillow's in 1998.

Very rare, and even rarer in this condition. This is the dual-motor, hand-held remote control version of the Tamiya Tiger II. The box has great color and gloss, four solid corners and general light wear as the only flaws. It features excellent detail and mold quality, a factory assembled all-metal gear box with dual electric motor drive for realistic differential steering control, all hardware, a factory wired/soldered switch, hand-held remote and working treads that are still intact and flexible. The kit has never been started. Many parts are still sealed in the clear factory bags; the ones that are not sealed have been inventoried complete. Includes decals and instructions. With full color painting guide in 'very good' condition and 'near mint' instructions. The decals are still factory sealed and are in 'excellent+ condition. The model features detailed chassis with suspension, steering linkage and fuel tank, spoke wheels, complete motor & interior and a removable hood. Monogram B-26 Invader - Four Star Issue / True Second Issue, 1/67, P6-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

$64

True second issue from 1955. Rare. Few people (including me) knew that there was a second release of P6-98 that varied significantly from the first issue. The true first issue has a part number of 'P6-98', early '4 star' rectangle logo, black rubber main gear tires and no support peg to keep it from being a 'tail sitter' when assembled. The second issue (this kit) has the same part number, logo but has regular injection molded (silver) tires and a peg to keep the nose gear grounded. The instructions show these changes are are numbered P6, as are the decals. Molded in correct gloss silver and clear plastic. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. (In the past it was believed that the second issue was 'PA6-98' with a modified box top logo. This is now known to be the third issue.
