Pyro Chevrolet 1957 Bel-Air Two Door Hardtop, 1/32, C294-50

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM

Sold

Late 1960s Pyro issue from original molds. In the early to mid 1960s the Pyro company chose many of it's kit subjects based more on historical significance than popularity. In the late 1960s the '57 Chevy had passed it's popularity. But Pyro designers in the late 1960s had the forethought to recognize the '57 Chevy for the classic that it was. The Pyro car models are based on the actual cars that Pyro engineers and designers had access to. This model is well detailed and the box states that it can be converted to a 'road racing' or slot car. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts and instructions.

Heller Richelieu French Battleship, 1/400, L 1015

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+

First issue from the 1960s with superior mold quality. Very highly detailed full hull kit. The general consensus is that this model is superior in detail and accuracy to the new Trumpeter kit. Never started. All parts are still in factory sealed bags. Includes decals and instructions. The French Battleships Richelieu and Jean Bart were striking beautiful and powerful ships. Both benefited from the design of the Dunkerque-class Battlecruisers, which were exceptionally well engineered and very difficult to sink, as proven by Dunkerque herself at the tragedy of Mers-El-Kebir. As the Dunkerque-class, these ships had extensive underwater protection and a unique water-exclusion material in the voids. The Richelieu-class carried all main armament forward in two quad turrets of 380mm guns. The heavy secondary guns of 152 mm were carried aft. A high speed of 30 kts was proven and was not at the sacrifice of armor protection as on other capital ships. Richelieu escaped the fall of France and served with Allied forces throughout WWII and was present in Tokyo Bay at the end of WWII. Her sister Jean Bart was completed after the war and the two served with distinction in the post-war French Navy into the 1950s.
