The only real flaws is micro-cracking on the red base decal. The instructions are 'very good++' and the Air Power book is 'excellent++.' The canopy of the F-86 is painted black, as is the canopy and nose of the F-94 Starfire. There is no other painting. The flight wires are intact and never used. All the other parts were loose from the factory and have been inventoried complete. Includes all parts, base, decals, instructions and 24 page 'Air Power' booklet. Revell F-102A Delta Dagger With 14 Ground Accessories - 'S' Issue, 1/48, H282-298

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

Sold

Very rare first and only issue dated 1958. This version of Revell's large F-102 includes all the ground equipment and crew shown on the front cover. The F-102 aircraft features landing gear and flaps the retract and extend when canopy is opened and closed, removable rear section and detailed engine, engine, movable control surfaces, opening weapons bay with Falcon missiles and more. The ground equipment includes mobile staircase with work platform, tow tug with driver, 'Restricted Area' sign, trailer tongue, missile loading trailer, power cable trailer with reels, engine-hauling trailer, engine unloading trailer, three missile racks, kneeing mechanic figure and mechanic figure with clipboard. The F-102 is molded in silver and clear while the ground equipment is molded in bright yellow. There is currently no assembly but NOTE: at one time, two parts were assembled: the rear canopy was glued into the frame. However, it fell out. There is no glue on the areas of the canopy that show; there is only glue on the mating surfaces which do not show when assembled. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, both correct decal sheets and both sets of instructions present. Both instruction sets are in 'excellent' condition. Both decal sheets are perfectly flat, 100% intact and in 'very good++' condition with occasional, scattered age foxing on the backing sheet and very slight yellowing as the only flaws. NOTE: while all parts are present, the tiny axles are broken off of the missile trailer and missing. This is unfortunately common with this kit because they are incredibly small and fine. NOTE: the very top of the box displays 'Near Mint++" condition but is only rated 'Excellent++' because there is general wear and scuffing on the two long side panels. Please note that this kit must be shipped insured.

It retains the original 1956 Jim Cox art but the square 'Northern Lights' logo has been replaced by the Sunburst 'Famous Fighters' oval. The price extension is 79 cents with factory applied stickers; it is very likely that the printing under them is 69 cent extensions. The third issue is identical except for a printed (not a sticker) 79 cent extension. This kit was Aurora's 6th 1/48 scale World War I aircraft model. All six original kits were released in 1956. The line proved so popular that new models were added yearly into the 1960s.

Ideal Aeroplane & Supply Barquentine Sailing Ship - 12 Inch Long Wooden Model With Moulded Hull

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

Sold

Rare ship model from 1930s that contains Ideal's revolutionary 'Premolded Hull.' Since carving the hull was by far the most difficult part of early ship modeling, Ideal created a thick-walled, completely formed, hollow hull made from a wood composite. Never started. Inside, the kit is exactly as it left the factory which means that all the parts are still 'factory tissue sealed.' As was the custom back then, workers would assembly the parts for a kit and wrap them in tissue paper in a unique way that ensured that all the parts would be 'sealed' and held in place. Whoever buys this kit will see the contents for the first time since it was packed at Ideal Aeroplane & Supply in New York well over 90 years ago. Ideal Aeroplane & Supply was one of the earliest aircraft model makers in the USA, marketing their first kit in 1911 and running a well-known storefront that sold materials as well as kits for early aeromodelers. What is less known is that they had a very large line of ship kits also. They ranged from one foot to several feet long and covered unique and popular civil subjects as well as warships and submarines of the period. The company was very innovative in introducing the Moulded Hull which cut assembly time by more than half by eliminating all hull carving, shaping and sanding. The builder could use it right out-of-the-box and immediately add the deck, superstructure, fittings and prime or paint. Ideal was also known for their excellent, full size multi-view plans that includes many assembly notes, rigging diagrams, tips, additional detail drawings and much more. Often there was even a detailed painting guide.
