PS-1 (simple satellite number one) broadcast for 92 days on 20.005 and 40.002 Mhz. Nicely molded with all fine recessed panel line detail - I believe it is the ex-Apex kit.

Rare and large 1/16 scale museum quality kit. The four aircraft in this series (Wright Flyer, Fokker DR-1, Sopwith Camel and SE-5 Scout) are widely considered to be the finest model aircraft ever produced. This kit duplicates the world's first controllable powered aircraft using many of the original material in a near perfect representation of the inner structure of the aircraft. There are 303 parts made from die-cut plywood, Japanese cypress, cast soft metal, copper, rubber, brass, injection molded plastic and still other materials. Unlike the other three kits, this model can have the interior framework covered as the real aircraft or it can remain uncovered. Includes a Wright Brother pilot and display stand. The wingspan is 765mm (over 30 inches) when assembled. The engineering is world-class right down to the assembly plans. This kit has never been started. Nearly all parts are still in still in the factory sealed bags; the injection molded parts are the only ones not sealed and they have been inventoried complete. This kit was packed very carefully from the factory and all special internal boxes and inserts are included and in mint condition. Complete with instructions and roll-out plans. Pocher made the finest automobile models ever created. The detail and working parts on these long out-of-production, big 1/8 scale kits is amazing. It includes 1954 parts of plastic, brass, steel, leather, iron, rubber, copper and many other material. Working features include operating steering, working suspension, lights that operate from the dashboard, doors that open and close with operating door latches and handles, starting handle that operates the crankshaft, connecting rods, pistons, V-belts, Fan, dynamo, etc in the engine. The convertible top operates - and much, more more. Recommended for experienced modelers only. NOTE: this kit has very minor and neat assembly to two small engine parts - the back of the generator is glued to the generator casing. There is no other assembly and zero painting. Roughly 80% of the parts are still sealed in the factory bags. The few bags that were opened have been inventoried complete. With decals and instructions. This is the desirable early version with the most realistic wheel construction. Each wheel is built just like a real spoke wheel with individual spokes and well over 100 parts. First issue from 1968. Markings for Fighting Squadron 2 which operated from the USS Lexington (CV-2) in the 1930s. Very finely molded and detailed kit with traditional high Monogram quality. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions. The last 'Boeing Bipe' was one of the most maneuverable planes ever built. It had a top speed of 184 mph and was unusually rugged. The box would grade higher, but there is masking tape on the two long sides.

Most likely from the 1950s. Big scale model originally designed for rubber or CO2 power although later versions were advertised for gas power. Can be converted to electric power and modern R/C (radio control) gear. Features hardware, decals, stamped metal fittings, celluloid windshield, silkspan covering, fully finished wooden wheels, accurately cut wooden blocks, large factory rough-cut wooden propeller, full size plans, formed wire parts, die cut balsa and plywood parts, decals and more. The model has not been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Berkeley is a very famous manufacturer of flying model kits from the Golden Age of flying aviation, about 1932-1954. Founded in 1933 by William Effinger, the company was quite progressive in producing quality kits - it was likely the Berkeley 'Buccaneer' was the first gas powered model in kit form. In the later 1930s, Effinger acquired the services of a very talented Henry Struck. Struck went on to design numerous award-winning kits under the Berkeley name. Berkeley weathered the post WWII recession and emerged as a major kit producer in the late 1940 and 1950s. These were great years for Berkeley and they produced some incredible and large kits. The company went bankrupt in about 1960 however. Fox engines (Duke Fox) bought the company and released the kits alongside his own FOX models and engines. This arrangement did not last, and in the early 1960s the Berkeley name disappeared from hobby shop shelves.
