Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed NM

Sold

Still factory sealed. Ideal builder. Some molds have a colorful history; this one is no exception. At one point, Monogram leased or sold a set of Corsair molds (from the original 4 Star action kit) to Idea in Korea. Idea copied the molds, modifying them with a tab on each tree with the Idea name. Hobby Craft's kit is the Idea copy of the Monogram Corsair (right down to the blue and black parts) with the Idea tab. On the outside of many Hobby Craft boxes it says 'Make in South Korea' - obviously Idea is one of the agents who molded kits for HC. 'Working Action Model' with many features; wings fold, landing gear and tail wheel retract and all gear doors close, working arresting gear and rotating wheels and prop. Under-wing stores feature missiles, bombs and drop tanks. Includes decals for Marine version.

Airfix HMS Campbeltown - Craftmaster Issue, 1/600, S2-39

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

Sold

1960s issue with dramatic Craftmaster artwork. Full-hull model is well detailed for that time. Never started. Inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions. On March 8, 1942, the Campbeltown sailed up the Loire River. Her mission was to destroy the Normandie Drydock, a possible haven for the Tirpitz which was holed up on Norway at this time. The Campbeltown was disguised as a German warship and the bow was packed with 8500 lbs of high explosive depth charges. Under a RAF diversion, Campbeltown fought her way up the river and rammed the dock doors at full speed. Charges at the stern sank the back of the ship and she was wedged in the dock. During a German inspection 8 hours later, the charges went off, scattering parts of the ship up to one mile away. The dock was rendered useless to the Tirpitz, who now had to stay in Norway.

Thanks to Eugene DuBey, we know some history on the aircraft that Aurora modeled.
