Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

$44

Hardbox issue is copyright dated 1965. Purchased new on May 12, 1966 at S.S. Kresge Department Store in Cleveland, Ohio. But the sound design was modified into one of the most successful and long-serving of all ASW aircraft - the Orion. Revell seized upon this opportunity to recoup some of the money sunk into the Electra molds. The molds were modified to make this kit, the 'A' version of the venerable patrol aircraft. Features optional position landing gear and loading door and movable wheels and props. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions.

Air Lines Bristol 138/A - (ex Frog), 1/72, 9802

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

$44

Very nicely done kit in the Frog tradition. On the 28th of September, 1936, the Bristol 138/A climbed to an altitude of 49,967 feet to establish a new world altitude record. In 1937 it climbed to 53,967 feet where the windscreen cracked. The pilot was saved by the pressure suit he was wearing. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Box art is by the famous Jo Kotula who did 1930s covers for the magazine 'Model Airplane News' and later the Aurora box art of the late 1950s. Air Lines kits are all Frog molds that the Lines Brothers imported to the USA between 1964-1966. The kits, decals and instructions were made in England, then imported to the USA where Testors created the boxes with the colorful trading cards on the back. There are one or two trading cards on each box which show the boxart but not the advertising/logo. Some kits contain a Testors color painting guide also, but it is not specific to any model.
