Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc+

$55

First issue from 1956 with Northern Lights logo and 69 cent price extension on the part number. This 'NL' Rectangular logo was used for this one year only - in 1957 the oval 'Famous Fighters' Sunburst logo was launched. Classic early Jim Cox artwork. This kit is one of a very successful line of 1/48 WWI aircraft that Aurora launched in 1956. The line sold so well that new kits were added into the 1960s. Molded in the correct gloss olive drab green and black. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Thanks to Eugene DuBey, we know some history on the aircraft that Aurora modeled. The tail # on the kit rudder is 1354, the number of a Nie 16 that served with "CAM de Dunquerke / St Pol sur Mer", 1916-17.

Sterling Curtiss P-6E Hawk - 16 inch Wingspan Flying Model Aircraft that Drops Bombs in Flight, A10

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc+

$75

16 inch wingspan kit for free flight or control line. Includes innovative system for automatically dropping bombs in flight. Sterling was a famous manufacturer dating back to the 1930/40s flying model craze. Although they continued to produce kits for decades after the flying model slump following World War II, they eventually fell victim to the general lack of interest in modeling that occurred in the early 1980s. I always considered Sterling kits to be deluxe kits as they featured color decals, high-grade die cut balsa, vacuform plastic detail parts, plastic wheels (if required), finished wire landing gear, rubber motor and plastic prop, full size plans with instruction details and instructions for conversion to control line. The kit has never been started. Inventoried complete including decals and instructions.

Burkard Grumman F4F Wildcat - Giant Solid Wood Aircraft

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

This one features a 15 inch wingspan, completely precarved fuselage (only needs final sanding), precut wings with airfoil, pre-cut stabilizers, fully formed wheels, other wood parts as required, canopy material with the frames printed on, two color insignia sheets, a corked glass bottle of glue and 'near mint' condition full size plans with building instructions. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts.
