In the mid 1950s, Aurora bought three 'Knight' molds from Crown Plastics and issued them as K1, K2 and K3. These were the very first Aurora figure kits. The early Aurora 'Northern Lights' logo has the correct 'Crown Line' logo inside it. Inside, the kit is mint. The shiny, very dark blue plastic parts are still sealed in the factory bag. Even the red feather plume is present and in 'excellent' condition. The instructions are correct with the Crown logo in the Aurora logo and they are in amazing 'near mint' condition. The box has wear as shown; there are a few litho chips on the upper edge, light corner wear and very general, light even wear.

This large model is 35.5" long and has a 71" wingspan. This is one of the famous Sal Taibi's National award winning designs for use with 'hot' engines .15 to .29 displacement. Sal was one of the early 'Kings Of Gas Free Flight' and a very gifted designer. Feature high quality balsa and plywood parts, spar and strip wood, metal stock as required, aluminum motor mount, hardware and excellent full size plans. Never started and inside it is in factory-new condition. The small parts are still in the factory sealed clear bag; the other parts have been inventoried complete with the plans. NOTE: this kit was shipped in the very sturdy box shown. Unless you specify otherwise, we will send it wrapped in brown paper. If you wish to have it boxed, extra postage will apply. Designed for 'Sniffing Thermals,' the honored pastime of a generation of model enthusiasts. Flying model aircraft predated powered flight; however, balsa wood and printwood were not introduced until the early 1930s and the hobby took off, as well as the hunt for thermals. Gas flight began in the early 1930s, and powered models (most all driven by Brown engines) took home so many awards that they were forever separated in competition from rubber powered models. Design of gas models was tricky since RC (radio control) models could not yet be applied to the mass market; so a gas model had to not only fly and climb under power, but then glide sufficiently - all in a stable fashion and without any operator inputs once the airplane took off.

Very rare first issue from the early 1950s. When Aurora moved to the West Hempstead plant, they planned a series of very large scale bombers. All kits released up to this time had been small. Aurora's instincts were correct, and the B-26, B-25 and B-29 were a big sales success. This box art was done by Jim Cox and was only used for about one year, making it very rare. The kit has never been started and is inventoried 100% complete with the original tissue paper, all parts, large clear stand, instructions and decals. The box has very good color, four solid corners (no repairs), no fading, stains or tears and no price tags or tape (other than the factory sealing tape). It does have moderate general wear as shown, a small (3/4" x 3/8") price tag tear on the left short side, edge wear (more on the on the left than the right) and litho chips on the top long side along the edge.

Well detailed high-definition cast resin model with recessed surface detail. The kit has never been started. The parts that were factory sealed are still in the sealed bags. The large parts that were never factory sealed have been inventoried complete including decals and instructions. In 1972, the U.S. Air Force issued the Advanced STOL transport program for a new medium airlifter that capable of operations into battle zones with short, temporary airfields. Two proposals were accepted for construction as the Boeing YC-14 and McDonnell Douglas YC-15 prototypes. McDonnell Douglas's design incorporated a supercritical wing, the result of NASA research. The design team also chose to use externally double-slotted flaps to direct part of the jet exhaust downwards, while the rest of the exhaust passed through the flap and then followed the downward curve due to the Coanda effect. Two YC-15s were built, the first flight was on 26 August 1975. The second prototype followed in December. The Air Force decided it needed a larger transport that would fly to standard, conventional airfields rather than into battle zones. In 1979, the Air Force formally cancelled the AMST program for both the YC-14 and the YC-15. As a result, the C-X program, the C-17 evolved.

Luckily for us, Pyro not only made these kits but did an excellent job for the time. The Pyro car models are based on the actual cars that Pyro engineers and designers had access to. In some cases, the specific car and owner is on the box. The model includes rubber tires, brass plated & colored and clear plastic parts. Very rare 1950s gift set. Long before injection molded kit were mass produced in the USA, Monogram created what are widely considered the finest pre-fabricated wooden kits with plastic details. The Speedee-Bilt series were flying models with pre-painted and cut wooden parts with plastic props, cowls, pilots, etc. The Superkits were smaller static models with precarved wooden parts and many plastic details. The kits themselves are rare today, but the gift set is very rare. Monogram issued very few gift sets for injection kits, and even fewer in the early 1950s for the wooden kits. The gift set consists of a special 'Christmas' box with a tray and lift-off top with a cello window. This one contains 2 Superkits (F-84 Thunderjet and F-51 Mustang) and 2 Speedee-Bilts (also the F-84 and F-51). The outer box is intact with the original cello and is in 'very good' displayable condition but is not perfect. It has edge wear, general wear, light staining (visible at the upper left) and two closed split corners. The four kits inside are in mint boxes and have never started. Each is 100% inventoried complete with all parts,decals and instructions present.

Very rare in this condition. This is a rare opportunity to own one of these engines exactly as it left the Cox factory. The engine is still factory tape sealed and even includes the nearly impossible to find Cox cardboard sleeve with the part number stamped on the front. Not a kit, but a factory built engine that is NOS - never run and mint. The Golden Bee features an oversize fuel tank with cross vent and filler tubes for 'Longer Flight and Easier Stunting' as one side of the box says. The sleeve is 100% intact has some bug damage on the top as shown and significantly more bug damage on the sides and bottom. There are no holes, only surface damage.
