Very rare kit from 1941 that measures 18.5 inches long when assembled. This is a deluxe kit that that time which includes a very unusual detailed hanger deck assembly. Issued shortly before the war, the model was not reissued after the war since the Wasp was lost off Guadalcanal by what is likely the most damaging submarine torpedo salvo in history. Includes completely pre-molded and shaped wood-material hull in superb, solid, straight and damage-free condition, 5 sheets of very neatly done printwood (3 on balsa and 2 on quality cardstock for the thinner parts), hardwood stock in a wide variety of shapes and sizes and a fittings packet. Features excellent plans with 5 full size drawings, exploded assembly view, detail drawings of the substructure, weapons, boats and fittings, a detailed view of the hanger deck, flight deck with pre-war markings and even rigging information, full painting guide, parts list and even text assembly instructions. Never started. NOTE: All the wood parts are complete but it is missing three (of four) paper-fibre propellers. Otherwise inventoried with all other parts and plans present.

Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Please note that the soldier's bayonet is broken from the rifle but present. One bogie wheel shaft is broken from the hull but is present. The coupon is neatly cut from the instruction sheet.

1950s hardbox issue with Ray Gaedke artwork. This is a very nicely molded kit for that time and includes rigging photos for spreader bars. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including all parts, decals and instructions. Please note that although the instructions show special short 'spreader bars' to use with wing rigging, they did not provide them. Round stock plastic, a short piece of wire or pulled sprue works perfectly. NOTE: the box top displays 'excellent' but is only graded 'fair+' because there is a long tape tear on the lower long side that is 6" long and 1" wide.

Rare 1940s solid wood scale model with a 15" wingspan. Features profile (2D) cut fuselage and wings, balsa nacelle blocks, wood stock as required, factory-sealed small parts envelope, a very large double-sided fold out poster with numerous photos of the aircraft, detail shots and history. Includes excellent plans with all fuselage and wing templates, detail views and building tips. Never started and complete. Ranco made quite a line of kits and the address was Ranco Manufacturing, Hutchinson, Kansas. Just a few of those kits include the B-29, Cessna Bobcat, Sikorsky Helicopter and Kellett Auto Giro. There is evidence that they made boat kits also.

It features a full rolling chassis build-up just like the actual car, complete suspension, steerable front wheels, full exhaust and engine detail (including rubber ignition wires and water hoses), full interior with opening doors, folding arm rest and opening storage compartment, dash instruments behind glass, opening trunk lid, detailed engine compartment and hood that opens like the prototype. From the website www.daveswarbirds.com: The Yokosuka R2Y Keiun ("Beautiful Cloud") was designed to be long-range high-speed land-based reconnaissance aircraft whose superior speed would hopefully prevent its interception by enemy fighters. A project with the designation R1Y1 Seiun (“Blue Cloud”) was started and resulted in a design similar to the P1Y1 Ginga bomber, but as calculated performance fell short of meeting requirements, the project had to be abandoned. A new design was started in 1943, and was designated the R2Y1. The R2Y borrowed from the German pre-war Heinkel He 119 in its use of coupled engines driving a single propeller. It also featured a tricycle undercarriage giving it an appearance similar to the Messerschmitt Me 509. Completed in April 1945, the prototype made a short flight on 8 May, but was destroyed in a US air raid only a few days later, thus ending development. A proposal was also made to develop the R2Y into a turbojet-powered light bomber by replacing its piston engines with two Ishikawajima Ne-330s. Designated the R2Y2 Keiun-Kai, the design was also begun to work on second prototype but it was never completed.
