In addition to her more famous role in the War with Spain, Olympia went on to active service in World War I, the Allied intervention in Russia, and as flagship in the Mediterranean, 1919. She is preserved today as a museum ship and one of the very few protected cruisers left in the world.

Early issue in a hardbox with great artwork. Kit is of the earliest ships built by Yankee craftsman during the Revolutionary War. The ships were speedy and handled so well that the British copied a captured brig. They were well suited to commerce raiding but were not of the size and strength needed to take on Royal Navy units. The Marusan F-86D model is known for it's action features and accessories, and the Fuji reissue includes them all. Kit has removable radome to display the radar, opening canopy, removable tail section with dolly and detailed jet engine with engine stand, operating leading edge slats, operating wing flaps, moving control surfaces, retracting landing gear, retracting/extending missile tray, boarding ladder, and extra missiles with missile cart. 1961 issue in the Whip Fly series. This series was quickly discontinued when it discovered that heavily weighted models with pointed front ends swinging at the end of a string at very high speeds might not be safe. Rare. Based on the 1950s F-106 "S" kit, the Delta Dart Whip Fly comes with USAF decals, flight ballast, handle, 12 feet of control line, control ring, colorful streamers for the jet engines and a underside pod which is a in-flight whistle! Revell's first aircraft carrier model. This is the 1961 Picture Fleet reissue of the original 'Pre-S' kit from 1954. Excellent kit of a straight-deck Midway class ship in the near original configuration. Features early heavy AA battery. Has correct hardbox in excellent condition. Inside, the kit is molded in the correct glossy light gray plastic. Never started. NOTE: kit is missing all aircraft except one F4U and one F9F. Otherwise complete with all other parts, decals and instructions.
Tee-Jay Bessonneau World War 1 Aircraft Hanger Bagged, 1/72

Rare. Limited issue kit - one of only 500 made. Large kit is big enough to hold several single seat fighters. The Bessonneau Type 'H' Canvas Hanger was used as a lightweight housing and maintenance area for World War 1 aircraft. The structure was light timber framed and covered with canvas. The hanger came in four sizes and the RFC and RAF used this 20 x 24 metre type. The hangers were used in France, Britain, Canada, Russia, the Middle and Far East, and at least one was captured and used by the Germans. The hanger was popular post-war, being used to house Hawker Harts in 1936, Meteors in Changi in 1957 and RAF Wessex helicopters in an aluminum framed Bessonneau from 1966-1968. The last known example was used at RAF Halton into the late 1970s. Still factory sealed.

In 1957 Japan opened her first Antarctic bases. In 1965 they built the ice-breaker Fuji as a support ship for the Showa South Pole Base. The ship served until the big ice-breaker Shirase was built in 1983. The Fuji is now a museum ship in the port of Nagoya, Japan. This unique kit is still factory sealed. Large 1/300 scale. This kit by Sharp and is not listed in Burn's guide. Still factory sealed. If you have any information about the original molds, please email me and I will update this information.

One of a very popular line of World War 1 flying aircraft stick and tissue kits with 18 inch wingspan. Kit features scale plastic wheels, plastic propeller, light vacuform nose cowl, die cut balsa parts, colored tissue, rubber motor and full decals. Includes full size detailed plans. The model has not been started. The parts are either in factory sealed bag(s) or inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Guillow's founder, Paul K. Guillow, was a WWI naval aviator. In 1926 he began producing wooden model airplane kits. His 'Shelf Models' were some of the earlier non-flying models in production. Guillow's grew during the model boom of the 1930s, and when the Depression hit the hardest, Guillow's responded with lower prices and became one of the low price leaders, frequently advertising in Model Airplane News and other leading publications. During the war, like most manufacturers, Guillow's was forced to alternative materials such as cardboard and pine. Guillow's survived the post WWII slump by creating many inexpensive profile flying rubber powered aircraft and gliders in the 1950s (along with North Pacific) which became famous - some are still available today. The stick and tissue lines have been updated with laser cut parts and are still in production as of 2009.

Very rare. 1950s kit made in Japan by Sankyo. Scale is stated as 1/150 on the box, but it measures out to 1/162 for the 500B wingspan. Very nicely molded with fine panel line detail, separate propellers and landing gear. Includes decals and the instructions are on the back of the box. The kit and decals are still sealed in the factory bag, and the kit is complete. Many thanks to Tom Marino for solving the mystery of who made this kit.
