Monogram Mitsubishi Zero A6M5, 1/48, 5222

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

Sold

1990 reissue of the famous late 1950s 'Four Star' kit. Don't build your original and valuable Zero! This is the perfect builder and is made from the same molds. One of the very popular and successful line of 1/48 World War II kits that Monogram issued through the 1960s. Kit features retracting landing gear, rotating wheels and prop, pilot and cockpit and optional drop tank. Molded in dark green, black and clear. The kit has never been started. The parts that were factory sealed are still in the sealed bags. The parts that were not factory sealed have been inventoried complete including decals and instructions. Please note, the decal backing paper has light stains but the actual transfers are clean and clear.

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Good++

Sold

Still factory sealed but the box has wear from other kits being stacked on it. Third issue dated 1968. This kit is interesting in that it has both part number systems on it - the old PA96, and one inch away it has the new 4 digit system 6803. Very nice kit featuring movable landing flaps, optional position landing gear and canopy, and decals for USAF, Flying Tigers and RAF versions.

Monogram Tiger Shark P-40B - USAF/RAF/Chinese Flying Tigers- Bagged, 1/48, 6803

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

Sold

1973 issue of the original classic Four Star kit. Bagged kit - the box is shown for reference only. Perfect builder. This kit was never damaged. The collector stored his kits in bags because of limited storage space. He was very precise; the canopy is bagged separate to prevent scratching, the small parts are in a zip lock for protection and then put into a larger sealed bag with the bigger parts and instructions. Decals are excellent. Very nicely molded and detailed model in the best Monogram tradition. Features very fine raised panel detail, full cockpit, optional position landing gear, optional closed one piece or open four piece canopy, pilot, belly tank and working landing flaps. Includes decals for USAF, RAF and AVG Flying Tigers (Chinese). The kit has never been started. NOTE: Missing #9b small side cockpit panel. Inventoried with all other parts, decals and instructions.

Aurora Fokker D-VIII Flying Razor (DVIII), 1/48, 135-69

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

Sold

First issue from 1959 with fantastic Jo Kotula artwork, FF logo and Parents' Magazine seal on the lower right. A nice kit of the dreaded 'Flying Razor' of WWI. The D-VIII had what it took to turn the tide in the air, but was introduced too late and in too few numbers to make a significant difference. Kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.

Sterling Stinson SR-8 Reliant Gull Wing - 31 inch Wingspan for R/C, 1/16, E8

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good++

Sold

Big scale kit with a 31 3/8 inch wingspan. Designed for RC, CO2, free flight, control line or non-flying detailed scale kit. Sterling was a famous manufacturer dating back to the 1930/40s flying model craze. Although they continued to produce kits for decades after the flying model slump following World War II, they eventually fell victim to the general lack of interest in modeling that occurred in the early 1980s. I always considered Sterling kits to be deluxe kits as they featured color decals, high-grade die cut balsa, vacuform plastic detail parts, plastic wheels (if required), finished wire landing gear, rubber motor and plastic prop, full size plans with instruction details and full instructions for conversion to RC or control line. There has been no assembly. NOTE: one sheet of parts has been punched out, and the cowl and one wheel pant (both vac parts) rough cut out. All done very neatly. NOTE: missing one small rectangle part, #52. There is another #52 present so you can copy it with the extra wood included. Otherwise inventoried with all other parts, decals and instructions present.

UPC Coast Guard Patrol Boat, Unknown, 5003-100

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Exc++

Sold

Still factory sealed. Mold origins unknown - if you can shed some light on this, please email. UPC stood for Universal Powermaster Corporation which was based out of New York City, NY. UPC did not cut their own molds, but bought kits already molded from other manufacturers and re-boxed the kits in the USA. Scott Eidson, the famous artist best known for his artwork with Revell, also did UPC box art in the 1960s. All UPC production ended in the 1970s.
