Rare waterline kit that can build any one of the four 1939-1940 large destroyers listed. Includes superb resin moldings with cast metal details and a great many photoetched parts. PE details include radar screens, cranes, guns, shields, all railings, ladders, prop guard, davits and more. Includes full instructions and paint guide with side elevations of all four ships. There is much additional information in the 17 drawings so that with slight modifications this kit can make the Z as at commissioning in 1937, the slight stern and bow modifications (1938), bridge conversion work, 1942 configuration, 1945 Z4 configuration, recommended paint colors and camo patterns for Z4 1941 and 1942. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes instructions. These destroyers served early in WWII.

Hard to find Coast Guard version in one of two box variations for this issue. Features retracting landing gear, rotating wheels/props, three man crew, optional position door and two survivors in life rafts. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions. NOTE: one wheel and one prop shaft are silver (not white, like the rest of the parts). They are from an earlier edition of this same kit. The decals have some light bug damage and age cracking. Please see the article (located on this website) on how to save old decals. The Albatross was the primary sea rescue aircraft of the Aerospace Rescue and Recovery Service, a branch of MAC - Military Airlift Command. Operational service began in 1947 and Hu-16s saw wartime action in Vietnam. Many finished their careers in the Coast Guard.

Original 1950s issue with fantastic Ray Gaedke box art. The box has like-new color and gloss, four solid corners, no fading, no price tags or tape and no marks from tag or tape. Very light, general wear is the only flaw. Kit features moving control surfaces, cockpit, rotating prop and wheels and clear display stand. Molded in white and clear with very colorful and extensive decals. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. In 1931, Post and Gatty flew the Vega 'Winnie Mae' around the world in 8 days, 15 hours and 8 minutes for a new world record. In 1933 Post tested a gyroscope automatic pilot and radio direction finder in another record flight lasting 7 days, 18 hours and 45 minutes. This aircraft is now in the Smithsonian Museum.
