Molded in four colors. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The Lindberg history tells of the La Flore's 1771 voyage on a historical naval astronomy expedition. On this voyage were three members of the Marine Academy and the Royal Academy of Science along with two naval time pieces and a variety of other scientific instruments. The voyage proved beyond any doubt the value of chronometers in sea navigation. But there is more history than that. Earlier 'The Flore' took part in the Battle of Quiberon Bay in 1759. Later in 1761 she was captured by HMS Unicorn and became part of the Royal Navy; the British gave her the name HMS Flora. The British scuttled the ship off Rhode Island in August of 1778 to avoid capture by the colonists. The enterprising Yankees re-floated the Flore in 1780, repaired her, and sold her back to the French Navy in 1784. The French re-named the ship 'American Flore.' Under the French flag again, she took parts in the Senegal campaigns starting in 1788. The HMS Phaeton captured Flore on September 7, 1798, and she was sold for scrap value.
