Still factory sealed. 1960s/early 70s issue. Features traditional wood/tissue construction, quality print and stripwood, formed wheels, rubber motor, prop and thrust button, hardware and clear canopy material if required, tissue covering and detailed full size plans/building instructions. Comet was a famous manufacturer of stick and tissue flying and static models. In the 1930s Great Depression, they lead the low-priced kit revolution with the "Dime Scale" kits and famous advertisements in Model Airplane News magazine and others. Comet reached it's peak in the 1930s when they acquired the services of Carl Goldberg. Goldberg was a highly accomplished modeler with articles in Model Airplane News and famous designs that won him several National level competitions in the 1930s and beyond. (Carl Goldberg went on to found his own company and produced well designed and popular free-flight and RC aircraft). Comet survived the post World War economic slump and continued kit production until they were bought out by long-time competitor Guillow's in 1998.

Part of the deluxe high-cost Comet "Y" kit line from the 1950s/early 1960s. Note the box showing a bottle of Coke next to the young builder's snack tray and a finished aircraft. Measures 19 11/16 inches long with a 15.5 inch wingspan when assembled. Kit features traditional wood/tissue construction, very high quality printwood, stripwood and spars, other balsa stock as required, completely preformed wood wheels, covering tissue and superb full size plans with instructions. The model has not been started. It has been inventoried complete. The box displays much better than the 'good-' grade, but is graded as such because there are three big closed tears on the back. This kit includes never used Central Valley Archbar Freight Trucks. La Belle, with Ambroid, set the standard for wooden HO Craftsman kits. When properly assembled, they built to museum quality models. This kit very accurately models the prototype. Construction is all hardwood with metal details. Features fully cut and milled floors and roof with pre-cut and scribed sides, cut and milled bolsters, other wood stock as required, a bag of sealed metal detail parts, full markings, full size plans and instructions and more. Very rare first and only issue from 1969. A large and well detailed kit of this unique underwater habitat. Molded in tan (ocean base), orange/yellow and clear. The delicate clear part is in 'excellent' condition with scratches and minimal wear; it has been protected for shipping. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. NOTE: the decals has one of the 'AB' from LAB missing. The box displays much better than the 'good-' grade but it is graded as such due to light staining to the left short side of the box top and heavy staining to the right short side. Box bottom (tray) has some light staining also but not much. This kit must be shipped insured.

Purchased new on December 3, 1966 at S.S. Kresge Company in Cleveland, Ohio. Very colorful box artwork issue and an excellent kit for that time. Nicely molded with separate ailerons, elevator and rudder. This kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Box art is by the famous Jo Kotula who did 1930s covers for the magazine 'Model Airplane News' and later the Aurora box art of the late 1950s. Air Lines kits are all Frog molds that the Lines Brothers imported to the USA between 1964-1966. The kits, decals and instructions were made in England, then imported to the USA where Testors created the boxes with the colorful trading cards on the back. There are one or two trading cards on each box which show the boxart but not the advertising/logo.
