Very nice early 1/500 scale kit. Likely from the early 1960s. Has classic very high-gloss box artwork and no Nichimo part number. The model was designed to be operated in water and includes all the motor, metal running gear and hardware required. The kit is well detailed for that time and shows a great deal of forethought. Features dark red hull below the waterline, dark gray parts above the waterline, black searchlights and stack boot, brass leaf switch and battery contacts, electrical wiring as needed, tubes of glue and water-proofing silicon lubricant, all metal gear box for drive on two props, spring universal joint drives and the original electric motor still sealed in the original bag. The kit has not been started. All parts are still internally factory sealed. Includes instructions and flags.

Still factory sealed and in investment-grade 'Near Mint' condition. Classic and very popular Aurora USA issue from the original molds. This example is the 1963 hardbox release. Large 1/8 scale model is molded gloss dark blue and includes the plume. The Aurora Knight kits have a fascinating history. In the mid 1950s, Aurora bought three 'Knight' molds from Crown Plastics and issued them as K1, K2 and K3. These were the very first Aurora figure kits and they sported the 1956-only rectangular 'Northern Lights' logo with the correct 'Crown Line' logo inside it. The sales success of the Knight prompted Aurora to launch an entire line of figure kits. The knights themselves stayed in production long after many other figures were discontinued.

Rare and highly prefabricated scale rubber powered wood flying model from the early 1950s. Before there were plastic models, there were wooden aircraft kits. These usually came in two types - solid and stick and tissue. The solid models were static and usually contained a few blocks of balsa and sometimes a detail part or two. These "Make Wood Look Like Plane" models required a very high level of skill in carving and finishing. The stick and tissue variety were slightly easier to build and provided the ultimate thrill - they could fly when complete with rubber power (and later with free-flight gas and eventually RC). They still required a great deal of skill, so manufacturers sought ways to make model building more accessible to everyone. One idea was pre-carving and/or prefabrication. This raised prices, naturally. Many manufacturers launched lines of 'easy' to build flying models but only Monogram succeeded in making an entire line at an affordable price that would actual fly. The original "Speedee-Bilt" kits were in one-piece two-color boxes. In the early 1950s, shortly before plastic kits were available, Monogram changed to the 'hardbox' with a lithographic slick glued to the top as this kit. This Speedee-Bilt Corsair features die-cut and pre painted blue wooden parts, completely formed airfoil wing (the famous "Monofoil"), fully carved wooden fuselage nose section, carved and painted wheels, plastic front cowling with engine front, pilot, machine guns & four bladed propeller, clear vacuform canopy (still mint and perfectly clear- no yellowing), fully formed wire landing gear struts, rubber motor, full decals, sand paper, covering tissue (also blue) and more. The instructions are detailed and highly illustrated. Never started. Inside, the kit is as it left the factory. The small parts are still sealed in the original wax paper bag. The parts that were never factory sealed have been inventoried complete with all parts, decals and instructions. The decals and instructions are in 'excellent' condition with light to moderate yellowing as the only flaw. There is even a small catalog showing the entire Speedee-Bilt line at this time as well as Monogram's first plastic kits.

Rare kit from the late 1930s. This model is one of Joe Ott's mid-range line in size and price. Large model features two big sheets of Ott-O-Formers, spars and stringers, thin, hardwood die-cut wing ribs, wooden propeller, a small factory paper bag of parts including fully formed wheels, thrust button and metal propeller shaft), colorful tissue paper (the color of the aircraft on the box art) and excellent full size plans. The kit has never been started. Inventoried complete with all parts and plans. The four sides of the box as well as the two large end flaps are intact but NOTE: the box is missing the tiny end flaps and is fairly flat as shown. The box and plans do not mention any insignia sheet and there is not one present.
