Type 3 logo 1960s issue 'Porcupine'. The box is worn, but the kit has never been started and is still sealed in the internal factory bag. Complete with decals and instructions. The Sunderland's 21-year record with the RAF has made it a legend. Derived from the Empire Class Flying Boat Airliners, Sunderland IIIs had a top speed of 210 mph and an endurance of 12 hours. These qualities made the Sunderland a superb platform for North Sea and North Atlantic patrols, ASW and SAR. Crews usually loved the airplane; its large size afforded many airborne comforts that bomber or fighter crews could only dream of, such as bunk, a head and an area for food preparation.

Rare kit from 1966. Large scale model - measures 2 feet long when assembled. Well detailed and molded for it's time. Includes molded billowing sails, ratlines, running and standing rigging material, full rigging instructions, metal chains, flags and much more. Never started. All parts are still sealed in the original factory bags. Includes decals and instructions. On September 23, 1779, John Paul Jones on board the Bonhomme Richard (40 guns) sighted a British Convoy, escorted by the 50 gun Serapis. The battle was one of the most devastating every fought by sailing ships.
