1950s first issue of the legendary kit. Made from wood and designed for electric or gas R/C operation. She measures 55.5 inches long when assembled and is highly detailed. There is a great amount of prefabricattion with parts from plywood, high grade balsa and other woods. Most parts are cleanly die-cut to shape. Solid pieces, such as 5 inch turrets, hull sections, smoke stacks and many more are factory pre-cut to shape. Includes full-size plans, instructions, running hardware, additional R/C instructions, flag sheet and decals. The kit has never been started. Inside, the parts have not been punched and are in the original sheets (NOTE: Some may come loose in shipping) Inventoried complete with all parts, instructions and decals present.

Excellent kit from the 1950s that measures 10.5 inches long when assembled. StromBecker was famous for this line of pre-carved wood kits. Made of solid Western Pine hardwood - not balsa. The carving is done to the final shape. When complete it makes an impressive desk top display. Never started. Inventoried and NOTE: Missing rear subdeck, a completely flat piece and easy to make. I have included a full-size tracing of this part and included the measurements on the drawing. Otherwise complete with all other parts and instructions.

Very, very rare. The Owens 35 Foot Bridge Sedan was Ideal's biggest and best ship models for many years. The high cost of this kit made for a very limited market; few were sold and fewer survive. The kit features welded-wood hull, die-cut mahogany parts, pre-carved wooden parts, propeller assembly fitting, numerous cast metal fittings, die-cut clear windows and more. Includes color flag sheets, large-scale, simplified 'picture' plan step-by-step instructions. The kit has never been started. All of the small metal parts are still sealed in the factory clear bags. The larger wooden parts have been inventoried complete and includes the instructions. The welded-wood hull is 100% complete and in good condition but please NOTE that the glue has become old and several seams have split. So you will need to repair it, but that is straight-forward. Please note that Ideal personal boat kits are not as refined as large Sterling personal boat kits. They require a great deal of skill and experience in working with wood. Scratch building skills will be required. NOTE: some of the wood parts (about 3) have some damage either from bugs or age.

If you are interested in small boat construction, this model is built the same way the real thing. Very rare and highly detailed model from Allen Baker's legendary Ship Model Shop. This was the last kit he issued, and there are two personally signed letters from Mr. Baker included with the kit. Very high quality kit features 90% factory finished hardwood hull, perfectly cut and crisp wood superstructure parts, a vast number of cast metal fittings, a large sheet of photoetched brass details, wood, plastic and metal stock as required, a beautiful set of dry transfers designed by Mr. Baker and custom made by Chartpak. Paperwork includes instructions, plans, sales material, color photos and various photocopies of plans. Carefully inventoried against the included parts list and NOTE: missing (2) of (16) small bitts and the (4) flat Aegis Antenna Enclosures; very easily made by cutting them from sheet styrene. All original paperwork is included but please note Mr. Baker explains that he had difficulty in releasing this final kit. As a result, the instructions are generic (from the FFG7 kits) and also a set of plans. He apologizes in the letter for the standard of documentation. I only recommend this model if you are comfortable building a ship from plans.

Rare. Excellent, very large-scale operating model. Features all die-cut wooden parts in mahogany & some plywood, plastic cowl, fully formed aluminum hood, optional parts and instructions for forward cockpit (Thriftway Too) or rear cockpit, full provisions for a gas motor from .19 to .60 cubic inch displacement, decals and more. If you have the equipment and know-how, there is plenty of space to convert the model to R/C. Includes large-format, fold-out illustrated and text building instructions. The kit has been inventoried and it is 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. NOTE: it has very minor and neat assembly as follows: step 1 (two bulkheads to each other), step 2(2 stiffeners to two long pieces) and step 3 (several stiffeners to bulkheads). Quality of assembly is 'near mint'.

Very rare kit from 1941 that measures 18.5 inches long when assembled. This well designed model even includes partial hanger deck sections where they are most visible from the port and starboard sides; even the rear elevator has a well, so it can be displayed up or down. Issued shortly before the war, the model was not reissued after the war since the Wasp was lost off Guadalcanal by what is likely the most successful submarine torpedo salvo in the history of warfare. Includes completely pre-molded and shaped wood-material hull in excellent, solid and straight condition, 5 sheets of cleanly done printwood (two are bristol board as thick as balsa but stronger), fully formed funnel, wood stock in many shapes and sizes, a fittings packet with four propellers & two anchors and two factory sealed packs of Casco Glue. Features excellent full size plans and instructions. The plans show numerous detail view of the ships substructure and a detailed view of the hanger deck, flight deck with pre-war markings and island. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts and paperwork present.

Please note that the manufacturer sealed the lower box (tray) with the contents; that way perspective buyers could lift off the top and see the contents and the kit remained sealed. This 1/200 scale plank-on-frame kit is manufactured by Serial Modellbau of West Germany and most likely dates from the 1970s. The back of the box says "This model kit contains everything except glue - all marine fittings - nails - hardware - sails - wood parts and complete instructions are included." Wel designed and detailed model kit features full instructions in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish, superbly drawn full size plans with numerous with detail views, precut cloth sails, plywood bulkheads, keel and mast caps, numerous brass and metal parts including bilge pump, hinges, lifeboat, anchors, chain, brass & metal nails, wooden blocks & deadeyes and more, mahogany planking and other hardwood planking, wood stock as required, rigging thread, full rigging diagrams, precarved hardwood stand and more. Never started. All parts and paperwork are still factory sealed in and to the lower box (tray). Although no one know for certain, this high-quality line of craftsman ships probably appeared in the 1970s. Known kits from this series include Bluenose (1921), L'Ann Alexander (1836), Royal Yacht (1661), Armistad (1832), San Gabriel (1497) and Prince Neufchatel (1802). All kits are plank on frame construction.
