Rare and still the only 1/72 model every made of this subject. The Curtiss F was the first successful production flying boat in history. The US Navy originally purchased five and numbered them C-1 through C-5, and later AB-1 through AB-5. C-1 was the first US aircraft to be catapult launched and AB-2 was the US Navy's first successful ship launched aircraft. The F was also the first Navy aircraft to be used in hostilities against another nation during the Mexican Expedition. Eventually around 144 were made for the US Navy and they served till the end of WWI in training squadrons. Esoteric was known for making perhaps the finest vacuform kits. Rare. This very high quality model that builds either the US Navy transport or the Pan Am Airliner version. The main parts are of white vacuformed platsic and they are of higher quality than many injection molded kits. Features a full interior, many cast metal details (propellers, engines, etc.), a fret of photoetched details and a very wide variety of extruded plastic strut stock. Includes decals for both versions. The kit has never been started. The small parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags; the big parts that were never sealed have been inventoried complete. Rare and still the only 1/72 scale kit ever made of this subject. The F3B was a complete redesign of the less successful F2B-1. As a result, F3Bs began to replace F2Bs in just a few months. The US Navy ordered 74 F3Bs and they served from 1928 till 1931. The aircraft was very popular with crews, so it continued in use for many years after it left squadron service. While flying as a 'hack' aircraft, they acquired wheel pants and Townend cowl ring - these parts are also included in the kit. Esoteric was known for production perhaps the finest vacuform kits. Still the only kit ever made of this subject, in any scale. Very rare, high-quality kit. Esoteric vacuforms have higher quality moldings than many injection molded kits; this model is no exception. Features superior surface detail, good cockpit, beautifully cast metal details, extruded strut material and more. Includes full color decals. Never started. All parts are still sealed in factory bags; includes instructions and decals. The US Navy used to offer designs of one firm to other manufacturers to build, the theory being that this helped the young aircraft industry. PD-1 was the name given to the 25 Douglas built airplanes based on the Curtiss PN-12 design. PN-12 was the logical progression of the PN-5, which was the increased wingspan version of the WWI F2A. Other companies that built the PN-12 with minor changes were Martin (PM-1, PM-2), Keystone (PK-1) and the Hall PH-1. All of these types served from the early 1930s until replaced by the more modern Consolidated P2Ys and ultimately the PBY.

This kit includes optional parts (down to the wheel pants) and decals to build any the many variants listed. The O3U-3/SU was developed from the O3U series and was a significant improvement over the first Corsair. Seventy-six were produced as -3s and served as observation/float planes for the battle fleet. Sixty-five of the -SU variants were produced and saw a variety of rolls with the Navy and Marines. This was Vought's last production biplane and it was loved by crews. They were taken out of fleet service in 1941 but served in various rolls before being scrapped during mid-WWII. Esoteric was known for making perhaps the finest vacuform kits. The white vac parts are so fine that they are better than some injection molded kits. Features all parts required for construction, very good cockpit, metal details and extruded strut material. The RAF tested a Corsair II in 1933 and a painting & marking guide is included for that aircraft; however, Esoteric clearly states that they did not provide the decals for this version. Very rare and still the only model kit ever of this subject, in any scale. The Dolphin was the development of the Sinbad flying boat of the 1930s. Initially designed as a civil transport, the US Coast Guard quickly saw the potential and used it as a flying lifeboat. The Army used Dolphins under the designations OA-3, OA-4, C-26 and C-29. The Navy and Marines designated them RD-1 through RD-4 and used them as VIP transports. The very first presidential carrier was a Dolphin for Franklin D. Roosevelt, and the Dolphin was the very first Douglas commercial transport as well. This is a very high quality vac kit with white vacuform main parts, full interior and fine cast metal details. The vac part quality is as good or better than many injection molded kits. Includes decals for three aircraft including FDR's transport. Never started. The small parts are still in the factory sealed bags; the larger parts have been inventoried complete. Includes decals and instructions. NOTE: the instructions have neat, adult, professional quality research notes on them. If you interested in accuracy, these are a big help. The owner of this kit built 1/72 scale models for museums.

Rare kit of the B-7 Bomber/Observation aircraft and still the only 1/72 kit ever made of this inter-war aircraft. This is a well-molded model with good detail, main airframe vac parts, many injection molded parts (propellers, wheels and much more), full decals, full size plans, photos of actual aircraft and instructions. Never started and i thas been inventoried complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Certain modeling skills are required to build vacuform kits. Not recommended for beginners.

Still factory sealed; this issue includes very fine cast resin tires & rims and cast metal main and nose landing gear struts. This aircraft was the last Curtiss-Wright designed airplane and was intended to replace the P-61 Black Widow. It was a clean and capable design yet underpowered; plans were to use the power powerful J47s in the production aircraft. The Air Force placed a production order; however, that was canceled and it lost out to the F-89 Scorpion. A certain degree of modeling skill is required to build vacuform models. They are not recommended for beginners.
