Testors model kits have a rich history dating back to 1929 when the company was founded by the Testor family in Rockford, Illinois. Initially, Testors produced a line of paints and adhesives for model builders. By the 1950s, the company expanded into plastic model kits, becoming a household name among hobbyists.
One of their most iconic models is the 1/48 scale P-51 Mustang, released in the 1970s, which remains popular for its detail and accuracy. The Testors 1/72 scale B-17 Flying Fortress is another historically significant model, celebrated for its representation of World War II aviation.
In 1980, Testors introduced the 'Snap-Tite' series, allowing beginners to easily assemble models without glue. Over the decades, Testors has continued to innovate, producing a wide range of aircraft, military vehicles, and ships, solidifying its legacy in the modeling community.
Plastic Model Kit, Box Condition: Good
$25
Very well detailed and finely molded kits. Features complete cockpit and full interior including troop benches. Never started. Inventoried and NOTE: missing (2) main wheels and (1) #61 aileron mass balance. Otherwise includes all other parts, decals and instructions. The Waco CG-4 was designed and initially built by Waco Aircraft Company of Troy, OH. It first saw action in Sicily and the operation was termed a disaster. This likely had more to do with planning than the actual glider. Missions in Europe, including D-Day, went much better. The glider was even deployed to Burma. It could carry up to 13 troops, or a jeep and four men, or a 75mm Field Gun.

It is noteworthy for it's excellent fit & finish and the large and beautiful set of decals for the "Gulfhawk" Gulf Oil sponsored air-show aircraft flown by the famous Al Williams. Williams amazing stunt routines amazed millions of spectators over several decades; however (and unfairly), his Gulfhawk aircraft were more famous than he was. There were many Gulfhawks through the years that amazed millions of spectators, but two of the most famous were the F3F Biplane and the F8F Bearcat.
