Testors model kits have a rich history dating back to 1929 when the company was founded by the Testor family in Rockford, Illinois. Initially, Testors produced a line of paints and adhesives for model builders. By the 1950s, the company expanded into plastic model kits, becoming a household name among hobbyists.
One of their most iconic models is the 1/48 scale P-51 Mustang, released in the 1970s, which remains popular for its detail and accuracy. The Testors 1/72 scale B-17 Flying Fortress is another historically significant model, celebrated for its representation of World War II aviation.
In 1980, Testors introduced the "Snap-Tite" series, allowing beginners to easily assemble models without glue. Over the decades, Testors has continued to innovate, producing a wide range of aircraft, military vehicles, and ships, solidifying its legacy in the modeling community.
