First release 1953 hardbox pre 'S' kit and the first ship model that Revell cut their own molds for. Earlier Revell ship releases were very small scale sailing shps from ex-Gowland & Gowland molds. This kit was so popular for so long that many believe it was Revell's best selling ship model of all time. Inside, the kit is molded in the correct gloss medium gray plastic. Hard-to-find 1969 three-color plastic soft box issue that includes the 'Everything Is Go' story booklet. The parts are molded in the correct gray, silver and yellow. Rare original hardbox issue from 1958; not the common 1990s reproduction. This is a superb model for that time and features working flexible treads, rotating turret with elevating gun, optional position hatches, four troops and more. Never started. All parts, decals and instructions have been inventoried 100% complete and are correct for this early issue. NOTE: one side of the upper hull is cracked. It fits back together perfectly. Please note that the box displays slightly higher than the 'very good++' grade but is rated as such because there are two short (1/2" long) closed tears on the bottom of the lower right short side.

It measures about 15 inches long when assembled and features full detail on the top two decks, prefabricated rat lines, vac sails, full rigging material and instructions and display stand. Inside, the airplane is from the original 1950s 'S' molds and even has the original decal artwork for The Flying Dragon. The box looks slightly better than the 'very good' ranking but is rated as suchj because there is a small price tag on the left side panel and a 1.25" x .75" tape tear on the upper long panel.
