Rare first issue dated 1955 with incredible box art by Scott Eidson. Never started. Inside, the kit is as it left the factory. All of the small parts and decals are still in the factory sealed clear bag. The hull, deck and stands were never sealed and are inventoried complete. Please note that the box is only graded 'good-' due to age foxing, moderate general wear and clear tape neatly applied to all four corners.

$135
First issue from 1958. From the stunning artwork on this kit, it is clear to see why these models are considered the pinnacle of box art and so collectible today. This is a finely molded and well detailed kit for that time which features removable canopy, pilot figure, detailed engine, landing gear, retractable landing skid, movable control surfaces & dive brakes and more. Molded in black and clear plastic and includes Revell's famous round-based 'Globe' swivel stand, a separate, full size color and marking sheet with four views and even an excellent history of the aircraft. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. The box displays almost 'near mint' but is graded 'excellent' because there is some minor litho chipping and moderate edge wear, especially on the left side corners.
Plastic Model Kit, Box Condition: Exc
$185
Very rare original issue from 1959. The box states "So Realistic It Does Everything But Fly!" and it holds to that promise! The model is packed with action features; wings fold, dive brakes operate, arresting hook moves, canopy slides to show full cockpit, landing gear retracts and cowling comes off to show fully detailed engine. The most interesting item is the landing gear retract and extension mechanism. It works through a very complicated gear system that is operated from a central point under the wings. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. NOTE: one drop tank tail tip is a different color plastic. It is from a later issue of this same kit.
Plastic Model Kit, Box Condition: NM
$425
Very rare one and only issue from 1961 that is in investment-grade "Near Mint" condition. This special issue of the Dodgers Team Aircraft was made by Revell just for the LA Dodgers concessions dealer 'Danny Goodman'. I purchased this kit along with the Revell factory shipping carton. This carton was originally sold to Union 76 Service Station #3459, located at 12080 Ventura Blvd in Studio City California. The case was shipped directly from Revell in Los Angeles to the Union Oil Station; the gas station owner's son confirmed this as does the address on the box; somehow Danny Goodman was bypassed in the transaction. The kit is fresh from the original shipping carton with no more wear than you would expect. The box is in amazing 'near mint' condition and the only flaws are some yellowing and light wear on the paper label. Inside, the kit is factory new. All parts, decals and instructions are still sealed in the Revell factory bag. The kit includes a wonderful photo of the 1963 Dodgers - World's Champions!
Plastic Model Kit, Box Condition: Good+

Famous Aircraft Series hardbox from 1960 with framable box art by Don Wilson. This was the box art that directly followed the "S" issue and this kit is also from the "S" molds. It is in the correct blue and clear plastic with yellow Blue Angels decals. Never started. The parts and all paperwork are still in the internal factory sealed bags. Literally everything inside is factory sealed.

1970 Strategic Air Power Series of this former "S" kit. Features optional position landing gear, clear canopy and detailed crew figures. The kit has never been started. 1961 Sea Power and Master Modelers Club issue that is in exceptional condition. Even includes the USS Long Beach Master Modelers Stamp and the two trading cards (B-47 and KC-135). The actual model is from the same molds as the classic 1950s "S" kit. It is well detailed and features Regulus II Cruise Missile with hanger bay and launcher, nuclear reactor assembly with removable cover, helicopter, Terrier and Talos missiles and launchers, detailed superstructure & bridge, full hull with propeller and rudder detail, missile trackers, full antennas for the sensor suite, ships boats, life rafts, helicopter, accommodation ladders and more. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals, flag sheet and instructions. Please NOTE that the box displays better than the 'very good+' grade. That is because small hole at the far lower right corner of the left short side and the two long sides have very old dry tape residue. The tape has long since fell off. CGN-9 U.S.S. LONG BEACH was the world's first nuclear-powered warship. She was launched in July of 1959 as the lead ship of the first new cruiser class since WWII. Originally designed as an all-missile cruiser, she was later fitted with two 5"/36 caliber guns amidships. After serving more than 33 years, she was decommissioned on 1 May 1995.

Very rare. From 1952 or '53. This is one of (if not) Revell's first gift set. It is Gowland-produced with no part number. Gowland designed and molded these kits as well as providing the box artwork (signed D.K. Gowland) and instructions - Revell did the marketing. Inside, the kit is correct with all cardboard dividers, all small parts still in the correct wax paper bags, cars molded in red, black, dark blue and green, tires molded in black and correct instructions. The models have never been started. Four kits are still factory sealed in the original krinkle bags. One kit, the 1903 Cadillac is in the krinkle bag but the bag has split, as they often do. I have inventoried this kit and it is 100% complete with all parts and instructions present. Before the 1950s 'model building' never made the top 10 list of boy's activities. Hobbies were nothing new to America in the 1930s/40s, but they were not mainstream. By the late 1910 and early '20s, many dedicated modelers were building flying or static airplanes, ship, train, automotive or other subjects. Basic kits existed, but the majority of these models were built from scratch, which demanded a high talent level developed from years of experience. By the 1930s, the 'Aviation Craze" had taken hold of this country and kits appeared everywhere. However, it was estimated at the time that at least 80% of these were never sucessfully completed (and fewer than that flown). That changed in the early 1950s with the advent of plastics and affordable injection molding equipement. The phenomenon of the all-plastic Revell/Gowland & Gowland 'Highway Pioneers' car kits was a significant force in proving that model building as a hobby could have mass appeal, provided that the kits were easy enough to build and finish. These 1/32 scale vehicles were completely molded to shape in color and could be built in an hour after dinner. When complete, they looked much like the real car. The Highway Pioneers series lead to the production of other subjects in plastic and the effect was revolutionary. By the early 1960s, model building was the #1 past time of American boys...and adult males as well!

Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.
