The box is in amazing 'Excellent++' condition with factory-new color and gloss, four solid corners, no stains or missing or torn litho and no price tage or tape or marks from either (this box missed the factory tape sealing machine!). The only significant flaws are corner and vertical edge wear. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. You can quickly tell the 1955 first version from this 1956 second version by the way 'Harbor Tug' is presented. On the 1955 version it is in black font. For 1956 it is in much more attractive red font with a black shadow outline. The Long Beach was built in Decatur, Alabama in 1943 and was one of a fleet of tugs operated by the Wilmington Transportation Company. She had a registered length of 81.1 feet and a beam of 24 feet. Gross tonnage was 146 inches and she drew 8 feet of water. Powered by a 700 hp diesel, the range was just over 3,500 miles.

Still factory sealed. 1987 reissue of the original 1967 kit that features the correct parts unique to the Yorktown that differentiated her from the sisters Enterprise and Hornet, 20 SBDs, 20" long hull, movable cranes and optional position elevators. The box art shows the wartime finish, but the kit contains decals for this or the prewar high-vis finish. The Yorktown was one of three prewar sister carriers along with Enterprise (CV-6) and Hornet (CV-8). The Yorktown saw extensive action in the Coral Sea and underwent temporary repairs in record time so she could take part in the Battle of Midway. Damaged by bombs and eventually a spread of submarine-fired 'Long Lance' torpedoes, she was lost after an epic struggle to save the ship.

Very rare original "S" kit from 1959. The box states "So Realistic It Does Everything But Fly!" and that is no idle boast. It is full of action features; the wings fold, dive brakes operate, arresting hook moves, canopy slides to show full cockpit, landing gear retracts and cowling comes off to show fully detailed engine. The most interesting thing is that the landing gear retracts and extends with a very complicated gear system that is operated from a central point. Decals are in amazing 'near mint' condition with slight yellowing as the only flaw and the instructions are 'excellent++'.
