First issue hardbox of this incredible Monogram model from 1965. This kit retailed for $3 that year, which was a small fortune for a 1/24 car kit; however it was well worth it. Very highly detailed and well molded featuring a rolling chassis build just like the full-size car, detailed engine and engine compartment, opening hood, full suspension, exhaust, driveline and steering linkage, full interior, opening doors, opening rumble seat and rumble seat door, optional position convertible top and more. Very rare and even rarer in complete condition. This is the 1959 first and only issue of this classic Monogram models and certainly one of the 'Holy Grail' for the manufacturer. The model features 18 aircraft (102 parts total), all to a constant 1/240 scale. All aircraft have an in-flight configuration accurate down to the upward-swept wing angle on the B-52. The display is made complete with all aircraft riding on 'Flight Wires' that rise from the special blue stand. The large decal sheet is in amazing 'Near Mint+' condition. It is flat and 100% intact with no visible micro-cracking and no yellowing. The instructions and Air Power book are both in 'Excellent+++' condition with light yellowing as the only significant flaw. The kit has never been started; there is no assembly. The flight wires are still in the factory sealed clear bag. The plastic parts have been inventoried 100% complete. The box is rated 'Good'. It has 'excellent' color and gloss, four solid original corners, no repairs, no price tag or tag marks and no tears. Wear includes many lithograph missing 'chips' as shown; these are due to bug damage. These chips are on the box sides also but there are slightly fewer than on the top. There is one very light crease about 1 inch long at the lower left corner. This kit must be shipped with postal insurance.

The P-36A Hawk has the dubious distinction of fighting on both sides and for more countries than any other plane in history during the opening years of WWII. This Hawk, one in a long progression of famous fighter aircraft, was the winner of a 1935 competition. The USAA Corps received the first aircraft in April of 1938 and the French ordered 100 aircraft in May of the same year. French Hawks shot down just over 30 German planes during the battle for France. The Germans captured the aircraft and sold them to Finland. Others were captured when the Germans overran Norway. In all over 800 Hawks were produced and served in China, Netherlands East Indies, Portugal, Great Britain, Thailand, Argentina and Peru. Although an excellent fighter in 1935, the Hawk was outclassed by the time the war started but when flown properly still gave a good account of itself.
