Unusual issue dated 1968. Please note this is the last Monogram Blue-Box issue of this model to have a price suffix on the part number. Additionally, there are both white and blue panels and each short side, a taste of things to come in the 'White Box' design that would appear shortly. This is a very well molded and detailed model for that time. Features superb fit and finish, detailed cockpit & gear wells, choice of two optional position canopies and more. The decals are for Col. Howard, who was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor. He was an AVG pilot and became the first US pilot to become an ace in both the Pacific and European theaters. His aircraft 'Ding Hao' means 'OK!' in Chinese.
Plastic Model Kit, Box Condition: VG++

Second issue dated 1966. This is a quality kit from the modified 'Four Star' molds (see below). Features drop tanks, bombs, opening canopy, pilot figure, ground crewman and boarding ladder. Molded in green, light gray and clear. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals. This is a fine time to outline the mold changes that Monogram made on their Thud model. The Four Star issue was much closer to the very early or prototype aircraft. For the 'Blue Box' issue Monogram did a very nice upgrade. The two rear-vision windows behind the cockpit were removed, the 'spring' for the ejecting pilot was deleted, the revolving bomb bay and nuclear bomb was replaced with the new fuselage and two supersonic drop tanks and external bombs were added. The kit is molded in two colors (dark green and sky gray) and had new decals; both of which reflected the bombing role in South East Asia. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.
Plastic Model Kit, Box Condition: Exc
$78
1973 Mattel/Monogram release of this great, large-scale model. The rare box art variation has the model facing to the right; usually it is facing to the left. Features opening doors, full interior, removable cowling, engine detail and two hunting figures (including politically incorrect dead mountain lion). Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Monogram lists a cardboard diorama for use with this kit (and another for the Cessna 180). This was advertised in the old four star kit box for a short time. The display was based on the store display but with the advertising removed. If you have one of these displays, please contact me.

Includes decals for 'Cool Cat' from the box photos. Molded in dark blue and clear. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. There are at least two different White Box issues; the other one has the same model photo but with a different text font & slight layout differences.

Operational service began in 1947 and Hu-16s saw wartime action in Vietnam.

Plastic Model Kit, Box Condition: Exc++

First issue dated 1964 that includes the seal to the lower box (or "tray"). Monogram would sometimes put the seal around the tray with the parts, so that the prospective buyer could lift the top, view the contents and yet the kit would still remain factory sealed. This one includes that seal but it has split open. While present, it is no longer fully sealed and so the kit was inventoried complete. This is a very well detailed and molded kit which builds any of four versions including 2-Seat Night Fighter, day fighter, 'Droop Snoot' with bomber nose and F5 photo recon version. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present.
