Monogram The Mummy With Glow In The Dark Paint - Also Includes Brush And Glue - (ex Aurora), 1/8, 6378

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed VG++

The Mummy With Glow In The Dark Paint - Also Includes Brush And Glue - (ex Aurora)

$36

Still factory sealed. This 1994 Monogram issue is from the original Aurora molds which Monogram purchased in the late 1970s. The kit features the movie Mummy figure, vicious cobra, display base, glow-in-the-dark paint, paint brush and glue. The Aurora Monsters of the Movies were incredibly popular, so the demise of Aurora was a sad day for figure modelers. However, Monogram knew this and had between 3 and 4 reissues of some of the monsters in the 1980s and 1990s. In 1994 the series included Frankenstein, Wolf Man, Dracula and The Mummy. All four had the glow paint, brush and glue included. Monogram still had to pay a license fee to Universal every time the did a reissue of these famous kits.

Monogram B-26 Invader - Four Star Issue / True Second Issue, 1/67, P6-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

B-26 Invader - Four Star Issue / True Second Issue

$79

Rare, true second issue from 1955. Few people (including me) knew that there was a second release of P6-98 that varied significantly from the first issue. The true first issue has a part number of 'P6-98', early 'Four Star Plastikit' logo, black rubber main gear tires and no support peg to keep it from being a 'tail sitter' when assembled. The second issue (this kit) has the same part number, identical 'Four Star Plastikit' logo but has regular injection molded (silver) tires and a peg to keep the nose gear grounded. The instructions show these changes are are numbered P6, as are the decals. Molded in correct gloss silver and clear plastic. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. (In the past it was believed that the second issue was 'PA6-98' with a modified box top logo. This is now known to be the third issue.)

Monogram Douglas SBD Dauntless - Operating Scale Model - Four Star Issue, 1/48, PA54-149

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc++

Douglas SBD Dauntless - Operating Scale Model - Four Star Issue

It features operating dive brakes, trigger released center bomb that swings clear of the propeller arc before dropping, retractable landing gear, rotating & elevating rear machine gun, optional position tear canopy, rotating propeller & wheels and more. Also includes figures of the pilot, gunner, armorer, LSO (landing signal officer), 4 bombs, bomb cart, and LSO wind screen...almost everything but the carrier deck for a diorama. Never started. Iinventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. Please note that the box displays as 'Near Mint' condition but it's graded 'Excellent++' because there are creases on the left short side and a small piece of clear tape at the center of all sides.

Very rare. 1978 issue that features a beautifully cast metal upper body, lower body (fenders) and hood. Highly detailed and well molded featuring full rolling chassis just like the actual car, detailed engine, removable hood, complete interior, opening rumble seat, spare-tire mounted side view mirrors, removable convertible top and more. Monogram RB-66A Destroyer - Blue Box Issue, 1/83, PA204-130

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+

RB-66A Destroyer - Blue Box Issue

$46

This is the original 1967 RB-66 issue, not the 1990s reissue. It is a fine model from the original 'Four Star' molds and features rear gun turret, cockpit with three crew, opening bomb bay and bomb. Molded in gloss silver and clear. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions. The box displays much better than the 'very good+' grade but is rated as such because there is tape residue at the center of the two long sides. When the Air Force phased out the B-66, they converted many into ECM aircraft, hence the RB-66A. Monogram seized this opportunity as a new lease on life for the B-66 molds and the result was this issue as RB-66 aircraft were being used in Vietnam in the late 1960s.

Monogram C-47 Skytrain with Paratroopers, 1/90, P11-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc+

Molded in the correct high-gloss dark olive drab and clear plastic. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Monogram US Army Military Jeep With M3-37mm Gun And 3 GIs, 1/35, PM21-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc++

US Army Military Jeep With M3-37mm Gun And 3 GIs

$165

Rare first issue of the popular WWII Jeep in the 1957 short box. The box is in beautiful 'Excellent++' condition; it displays better than that, but is graded as such because there is some very light discoloration on the right short side and tape marks at the center of the two long sides. The model features hinged windshield, rolling wheels, rubber tires, driver, two combat troops and detailed M3-37mm field gun. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. This incredibly popular model was Monogram's 21st plastic model kit and has a long history. The first issue (this model) was made in 1957 from all new molds; it was issued in the 'short' box with 'Four Star Plastikit' within the Monogram logo at the upper left. It was a natural choice to include this model in part number MGP1-498, the incredibly rare 'Military Wheels Gift Set' which included Jeep & Gun, Weasel, Half Track and Eager Beaver Truck. The second Jeep issue, which is the rarest of them all, is in the same short box but the only difference is that 'Four Star Plastikit' is replaced by 'The Name For Quality Hobby Kits.' This release is probably from part of 1958. The third issues again has the same part number, the 'Quality Hobby Kits' text but is in a 'long' box that adds bout 3 inches to the length. This was issued until 1966 when Monogram changed to the 'Green' boxes for armor and new part numbers; the Jeep got PM153-100. In the late 1960s, Monogram kept the same artwork but gave the text on the box a facelift with the change to the new, four-digit part number system - this kit received 6864. In 1972 Monogram again re-imaged all of the kits with the famous 'White Box' that featured photographs of the build up models since builders were demanding more realism. The Jeep's first White Box was in 1972, numbered 8211 and in a slightly larger rectangular box. The 1975 White Box shared the same part number but had a slight box top layout change. At this time, it was also made part of the Young Model Builders club kit and sent in a plain cardboard box with a lithograph slick stuck to the bakc. Since this kit continued to sell so well, it was kept in the line up and in 1982 it appears in the new 'Blue Box' design with the number 6302. But even that was not the end! In 1998, Revell (who had purchased the Monogram molds), reissued the kit with a military truck all in one box.
