1964 issue of this classic kit that features beautiful John Steel boxart. Large and highly detailed. This is an early version of the kit with the hull factory painted copper below the waterline. The copper paint is in 'excellent' condition with only light wear. This impressive model measures 36 inches long and 22 inches high when assembled. Features highly detailed deck, deck houses, cargo holds and covers, masts, yards and booms, bilge pump, windlass, 20 crew figure, and lifeboats with oars, life preservers, anchors, metal anchor chains, figurehead, finely detailed hull, preformed ratlines and molded deadeyes, pin rails and blocks, full standing and running rigging instructions and diagrams, 35 pre-formed vac billowing sails and four types of thread in two colors for rigging. Includes draftline and transom decals. Molded in three colors. There is no assembly. NOTE: this is very minor painting. The port hull half has minor (and correct) white paint to the inside bulkhead and the outer rub lines are painted white. Quality of paint is 'very good+'. There is no other painting. The black and tan parts and the rigging material is still in the Revell factory sealed bags. The white parts were not sealed and have been inventoried complete. Includes decals in amazing 'near mint' condition, flag sheet, assembly instructions, complete rigging instructions, rat line cutting diagram and even the excellent booklet "The Cutty Sark And The Days of Sail." Even the vacuform sails are in 'very good+' condition which is rare. Please note, they are not mint. There is some wear but they are well above average.

Very well detailed, smaller scale model that measures 11 inches long when assembled. From the quality and detail it looks like a reduced size version of either the larger-scale Revell or Pyro models. NOTE: there is some confusion about the scale of this kit, which is why I listed it as being about 11 inches long when built. The box lists 1/384 scale while it measures more of 1/310 scale.

Original issue from 1956 with the classic boxart of this time period at Revell. Like most of Revell's early ship models, this one is large-scale, very well molded and detailed. Features full hull, twin propeller & rudder detail, detailed superstructure, 40mm and 20mm AA guns, rotating turret with elevating guns, ship's boats & davits, gun directors, (outside) bridge instruments, landing craft, boat cranes, radar, helicopter pad with helicopter and much more. Includes full rigging instructions. Molded in the correct white, wood brown and butterscotch. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals, flag sheet and instructions. The box is only 'good-' and not in collectible condition. The 269' U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Eastwind, a Polar Class Icebreaker was commissioned on June 3, 1944. This cutter served in the North Atlantic during World War II, and on ice breaking in the Arctic and Antarctic. She was decommissioned in 1968.

Rare early issue from Pyro, likely from the late 1950s or very early 1960s. Wonderful kit of the famous schooner that would race between New York and Bermuda. Very nicely detailed and includes billowing sails, standing and running rigging material and full rigging instructions. Measures about 19 inches long when built. NOTE: this kit has very minor and neat assembly: 3 eyelets are glued to the hull. There is no other assembly. NOTE: the hull below the waterline only is painted green. Life-Like issue with with the original Pyro part number and A.J. Rudisill artwork. Most likely from the early to mid 1970s. This is a full hull, large scale model of Admiral Dewey's famous flagship. This kit is from the famous Pyro molds; Life-Like purchased the entire Pyro plastic kit line in the 1970s.

The Kasuga Maru was one of a class of three Japanese ocean liners that were built for the Nippon Yusen K line. She was launched in September 1940 and saw very little or no service (accounts vary) as a transport before her conversion to the escort carrier Taiyo. Given the size and machinery of this class of liner, the IJN subsidized their construction and knew they would make fine escort carriers. The Taiyo went on to have a very active career. She was attacked many times and damaged several times. Taiyo was eventually sunk in a submarine attack in August 1944 with a heavy loss of life by the USS Rasher.
