Revell Hawaiian Pilot C3 Freighter - 'S' Kit, 1/400, H315-169

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

Hawaiian Pilot C3 Freighter - 'S' Kit

$159

Original hardbox issue from 1955. When you see this beautiful artwork, it easy to understand why the Revell "S" kits are considered the high-point of model kit box art and are so valued today. The kit features a one piece hull, all deck fittings, detailed superstructure, all masts, kingposts and booms, cargo hatch covers, lifeboats & davits and much more. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. I believe that the Matson Line Hawaiian Pilot originally started life as the Navy USS Burleigh C-3 Transport. After the was she became the Oceanic lines SS Sonoma (#2). On July 14, 1953, Hawaiian Pilot collided with SS Jacob Luckenbach (another C-3 freighter, ex-Sea Robin), off San Francisco. Luckenbach sank in 30 minutes; the crew was safely transferred to Hawaiian Pilot and there was no loss of life.

Revell PT-212 - PT Boat (Higgins Patrol Torpedo Boat) - Pre 'S' Issue, 1/98, H304-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

PT-212 - PT Boat (Higgins Patrol Torpedo Boat) - Pre 'S' Issue

$159

Rare original issue dated 1953. This is one of Revell's very early ship kits, issued shortly after the release of the Missouri in the same year. Inside, the kit has never been started and has been inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. The box is 100% intact with remarkable color & gloss and four perfect corners. It does have a tiny litho chip at the center of the Revell red and white logo bars if you look closely. Thank you to Joe Couture for his important note about this kit: "The PT212 is a HIGGINS built boat, unlike the ELCO version made by most other manufacturers. The ELCO was effective and widely used in the Pacific, whereas the Higgins, somewhat smaller, could turn and accelerate more sharply, and was used in the Mediterranean against Italian shipping, all along the coast of the "Boot"."

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Fair-

US Coast Guard Cutter Eagle - With Sails

$65

Second issue hardbox from about 1960. This issue used the same dramatic box artwork as the original issue 'S' kit and is molded in the same colors - white, light wood tan and dark wood brown. Like most early Revell sailing ships, it is very well detailed and molded. Features full hull with display stand, detailed deck fittings and houses, separately masts and yards arms, separately molded belaying pins, realistic deadeye assemblies, lifeboats, Revell's superb preformed rat lines, rigging instructions, rigging material, vacuform billowing sails and more. Otherwise complete with all other parts, decals, color flag sheet and instructions present. PLEASE NOTE that the left hull half has split away about 3" from the front. It fits back perfectly with no gaps. The 295' bark rigged sailing ship was built in 1936 in Bremerhaven, Germany, for the German Navy. It was originally named Horst Vessel. The vessel was acquired in 1946 as a World War II war reparation. The ship was named the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Eagle, and has been used ever since as a training ship for future U.S. Coast Guard Officers. Eagle is based in New London, Connecticut.

RMS Queen Elizabeth Ocean Liner Craftmaster Issue

$89

Fantastic Craftmaster artwork of this famous Queen entering New York Harbor. Very highly detailed and well molded full-hull kit. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. The famous Queen Elizabeth was the largest liner in the world when launched in 1938. She saw extensive service during WWII as a troop transport. After the war, she and the original Queen Mary formed the backbone of Cunard Atlantic Service in unparalleled luxury. Some customers favored the Queen Elizabeth for her modern lines and more modern interior fittings. She was supposed to be on display in the USA on the opposite shore of the Queen Mary, but buyers never materialized. While serving as a 'College Ship' she burned in Hong Kong Harbor where she was scrapped, but only after appearing in a James Bomb Film as a MI-6 hide-out.

Airfix SS Canberra Ocean Liner - Type 3 Logo Issue, 1/600, F501S

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

SS Canberra Ocean Liner - Type 3 Logo Issue

$85

Rare 1960s release with fantastic artwork. This model is well molded and detailed like most Airfix ships. It features full hull, propellers & rudder, detailed recessed boat deck, individual life boats, swimming pools and more. Includes full decals. The kit has been inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. NOTE: this kit has some very neatly, adult-quality sub-assembly as follows: funnel 1/2s built, lifeboats to boat deck. There is no other assembly. Very little glue was used; so little that I used a wire to poke out two of the lifeboats from the back of the deck; both of them came out with very little effort. Four decks, the inside of the lifeboats and the propellers have been painted; there is no other painting. The large 45,270 ton Canberra was a famous post-WWII P&O ship from the final glory days of ocean liner travel. She was very innovative and it is said that never were so many new concepts pressed into service on one ship. She could carry a total of 3,199 passenger and crew and turn 27.4 knots with her powerful turbo-electric drive. Pressed into service as a troop transport during the Falklands war and nicknamed the 'Great White Whale', she could have been a prime target of the Argentine Air Forces but escaped damage.
