Rare Limited Edition and the only 1/72 scale kit ever made of this giant turbo-prop transport. The An-22 (NATO reporting name 'Cock') first flew on February 24,1965. the first public appearance was in 1965 at the Paris International Air Show. At the time it was the largest transport aircraft in the world. The An-22 is still the largest turboprop powered aircraft ever built, which is a remarkable technological achievement for that time. The four NK-12 turboprop engines, which also power the Tu-95 'Bear' variants) are the most powerful turboprop engines in service. The actual model has fibreglass fuselage and wings with all other parts of injection molded plastic. Features superb detail inside and out including a full cargo bay & cockpit. Never started. All but the fuselage & wing parts are still in the factory sealed bags and includes both decal sheets and full instructions. Please note that this is a large box and shipping will not be inexpensive.

First issue dated 1958 with 'Famous Fighters in the sunburst logo, Parents Magazine seal and classic Jo Kotula artwork. Molded in a stunning gloss deep burgundy and black. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. This model is part of a very successful 1/48 scale WWI series that Aurora started in 1956. They sold so well that they introduced new kits almost annually well into the 1960s. Some sold well right up until the end of Aurora in the mid 1970s.

Between WWI and WWII may navies experimented with submarine float planes. After trying several foreign models, the US Navy decided to design it's own. The result was the Martin MS-1 / XS-1. Although successful in tests, the aircraft took too long to assemble and was not put into widespread use aboard submarines. There were 12 machines completed, but nothing is known of their service records. Esoteric was known for making perhaps the finest vacuform kits. The moldings are crisp and have fine recessed detail - better than many injection molded kits. Every part needed to complete the kit is included down to the interior. Includes cast metal details, decals, shaped struts and full instructions. This kit has never been started. The small parts are still in the factory sealed bag; the white vac parts are uncut, untouched and 100% present. Includes all decals and instructions.
