From 1998 and an excellent model which features 170 pieces, all fine recessed panel lines, very good cockpit with detailed ejection seat, opened or closed canopy, very realistically modeled engine intake & exhaust, detailed gear wells, optional position landing gear, weighted tires, separately molded wing leading edge slats, optional extended or retracted trailing edge wing flaps, optional position speed brake, external fuel tanks & rocket pods and more. Includes detailed, multi-view paint and markings guides & decals for both RAF Squadrons. Never started. The Hunter was the standard RAF fighter during the 1950s. it quickly replaced the Meteor and Venom as it was superior in every way to the first generation jets. During the 1960s, the English Electric Lightning was successfully introduced and the Hunter transitioned into a fighter-bomber role and even aerial reconnaissance. Two-seat variants remained in use for training and secondary roles with the RAF and the Royal Navy until the early 1990s. The Hunter was so successful that almost 2,000 were produced and it saw service in 21 foreign air forces worldwide. Sixty years after its original introduction it was still in active service, being operated by the Lebanese Air Force until 2014.

Rare 1968 issue hardbox with great artwork. Molded in gloss white with the older clear triangle 'World' Aurora stand and colorful, early Pan Am decals. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including all pieces, decals and instructions. The box displays 'near mint' but is graded 'excellent+' because there is tape residue at the center of the two long sides.

1958 dated hardbox that is in exceptional 'Near Mint' condition. It would have graded nearly mint, but there is a '40' in black ink written on the right short side when the kit was marked down to this new price. Molded in silver and clear with full landing gear, display stand and decals for 'FB-419.' The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Around this time, Aurora issued a series of inexpensive (usually 29 cent) small scale kits that were designed to sell at almost any type of retail location. The line was successful and further expanded - when Aurora purchased the Comet molds, they fit in nicely with this established line.

Rare box art version and in very nice condition with good color, four solid corners, no fading, tears, tags, tape or marks from either. Light, general even wear is the only flaw. Hardbox is dated 1960 and this design was only issued for a few years at the most. There are two variations of this rare box - one with the Parents' Magazine logo and one without. This one has no PM logo and is the rarer of the two. Molded in gloss olive drab and black. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.

Ross Abare issue Gotha in amazing investment-grade, 'Near Mint' condition. Mr. Abare, a rare kits dealer in the earliest days of the hobby, contracted with Aurora to produce a copy of the original 1958 kit. However, Aurora had the printers use the mid 1960s oval logo without the 'Famous Fighters' in the border- thus forever separating the Abare issue from the original issue. Mr. Abare was reportedly quite upset, as he wanted exact copies. Molded in deep burgundy and black plastic. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.
