Second issue from Monogram in this scale and dated 1977. From the later 1960s and can be built 'stock' with RAAF decals or as a wild custom racing plane. This kit is from quality Airfix molds and is one of the MPC issues with custom decals, a unique clear Modular Display Stand and an optional clear round propeller disc for an 'in flight' version. Note that this issue still has 'Craft Master' under the MPC logo. Before this, MPC was marketing Airfix kits under the Craftmaster name in the USA. This continued for several issues and was finally discontinued although MPC continued to distribute Airfix and their own models. The kit has never been started. Internal factory sealed bag including decals and instructions. The decals are in amazing 'near mint++' condition which is rare for MPC kits from this era.

This late 1960s issue features the special clear MPC Modular Display Stand, normal propellers and clear round discs for an 'in flight' version, good interior detail, crew figures, rotating wheels & propellers, drop tanks, elevating guns and rotating turret, moving ailerons & elevators, positionable spoilers, optional bomb load and more. Includes decals for two aircraft. Rare and still the only injection molded kit ever made of this aircraft in 1/72 scale. Features fine, recessed panel line detail. Never started. Factory sealed bag complete with decals and instructions. This is the 16-cylinder, 490 mph Super Thunderbolt. This radical craft was designed to test the Chrysler XIV-2220-1 liquid-cooled inverted 'V-16' engine. Two P-47D airframes were set aside for modification by Republic at Evansville under subcontract to Chrysler. The airframe was redesigned from the firewall forward and under the belly from the nose to the radiator to a point aft of the rear gas tank. A GE CH5 Turbo Supercharger was installed in the lower rear fuselage. Final drive was through a 14 foot diameter Curtiss propeller. Many problems were encountered with the engine, so the aircraft did not fly till after the war in Europe on July 26th, 1945. Twenty-seven test flights were made including one at 30,000 ft that reached 490 mph.

1961 hardbox reissue of the famous late 1950s 'S' kit. An excellent model for that time, it features very recessed & raised surface detail, pilot & ejection seat, AIM-9 Sidewinder wing-tip mounted missiles, fully enclosed nose and main wheel wells, detailed landing gear, ground crew of three with Sidewinder car and extra missiles. Includes very colorful decals with national markings, fin flash, badges and even red stripes for the AIM-9s. Molded in gloss silver and clear plastic. This Revell 'Classics' reissue is from 2010 and is the final 1960s modification of the 1950s 'S' kit molds - which means it is a Pre-S Cutlass with Sparrow with wing pylons and Sparrow missiles. Rare hardbox kit from 1961 has fantastic artwork of an RAF Canberra flying over 'The Rock'. This example is in amazing investment-grade 'Near Mint' condition with factory new color and gloss, four solid and original corners, no repairs, no fading, creasing or tears, no price tags or tag marks and no tape or tape marks at all. The only flaws are very light wear as hown on the box top. Based on the 1950s B-57 "S" kit, the Whip-Fly Canberra comes with RAF decals, flight ballast, control handle, 12 feet of control line, control ring, colorful streamers for the jet engines and a underside pod which is a in-flight whistle! Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions included. Included in the famous 'Whip Fly' series are the H151 F9F-8 Cougar, H152 F-84F, H153 F-89D Scorpion, H154 F8U-1 Crusader, H155 F-39 Airacobra and H156 F-101A Voodoo. Although not listed yet, there was also a Whip-Fly Canberra, F-106 and Yak-25 Flashlight. The Whip-Fly series seemed like a good idea...at first. Revell quickly realized that spinning heavily-ballasted, sharp objects at dizzying speeds in or outside the home near groups of children was not the best idea. The series was quickly discontinued.

1960s Great Britain issue hardbox in the Famous Aircraft Series. The great artwork by Bart Doe is borrowed from the 'Famous Artist' series. Features working wing flaps, centerline drop tank, 2 Bullpup missiles, two Bullpup wheeled trailers and a ground crew of three. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. The box shows slightly better than the 'very good' grade but is rated as such because there is a 1" price tag tear on the left short side.
