It is a well detailed model that features all of the optional parts needed to build an accurate 'Caccia Notturna' or Night Fighter CR-42, injection molded main parts with fine recessed panel lines, highly detailed cockpit, many PE parts on two frets (one factory painted), extensive resin details, paint guide and more. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions.

This kit features traditional wood/tissue construction, quality printwood, factory cut stringers and spars, blocks and wood stock are required, fully shaped & finished main, tail wheel & thrust button, covering tissue, a very nice vacuformed clear canopy (in near mint condition and still clear & not yellowed), plastic flying propeller and scale balsa propeller, rubber motor and more. Includes a large insignia sheet and detailed full size plans that include text building instructions and additional construction drawings. The model no assembly but NOTE: all printwood parts have been cut out to 'excellent++' to 'professional' quality. If you are not aware of it already, this is a huge help in building the kit. Inventoried and NOTE: missing one very small gusset #F4. Otherwise complete with all other parts and instructions. Comet was a famous manufacturer of stick and tissue flying and static models. In the 1930s Great Depression, they lead the low-priced kit revolution with the "Dime Scale" kits and famous advertisements in Model Airplane News magazine and others. Very rare 1950s second issue. Still includes a factory-sealed, metal tube of Comet cement. The kit features recessed panel detail, clear canopy, detailed engine front and the Comet 'teardrop' shaped display stand. Molded in silver and clear plastic. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Decals and instructions are both in remarkable "near mint" condition. In the 1950s Comet made a beautiful line of small scale aircraft and missile models with colorful boxes. When Comet went out of business, these molds saw action for years with Aurora who reissued some (but not all) of them.

SALE!! Rare Aurora Great Britain issue made by Playcraft Toys Ltd, London. Dated 1957 with classic Jo Kotula box art. Please note that the Sunburst Logo has "Playcraft Hobby Kits" in the border and not 'Famous Fighters' like the USA issues have. Although made in England, it is molded in the same glossy dark olive drab, black and clear plastic as the US issue. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. 1957 first issue in fantastic 'Excellent++' condition. The box has perfect color and gloss and four solid corners. The only flaws are very light and isolated age foxing and light wear. Rare one-and-only 1960 issue that contains both the DH-4 and Curtis JN-4 Jenny molded in colorful plastic. Aurora really went out of the way to make this a special kit; however, it was retired after only one year. Features completely new box artwork, a DH-4 molded in gloss dark green and black, the JN-4 molded in gloss bright yellow and black, great custom decal sheets for both aircraft and special 'Barnstormer' instructions for each aircraft. Never started. It has been inventoried 100% complete with all parts present and includes decals and instructions. Instructions are both in 'excellent+' condition and the decal sheets are both completely flat (no rolling) with typical age yellowing as the only flaw.

Rare limited issue. Hardbox is dated 1965. Issued as a promotion with the famous TV show "12 O'Clock High," which centered on the exploits of USAAF B-17s flying over Hitler's Germany. Has many working features: detailed engine with removable cowling, full cockpit and retractable landing gear. Molded in gloss olive drab and clear. The kit has no assembly, but NOTE: the interior parts are painted with one thin coat of zinc chromate green. There is no other painting. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. Other kits in this rare series include the B-17 Bomber Formation (3 kits with a special stand and battle-damaged decals), P-38 Lighting, ME-109 (Bf-109), P-47, B-25, B-26 and Fw-190.

This model is in an investment-grade 'Near Mint' condition box. The only box flaw is very slight wear. Dated 1956, but this is a 1960s issue with the later John Steel artwork and blue oval 'Aurora' logo with no 'Famous Fighters' in the logo. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. This is part of the famous Aurora WWI series of 1/48 scale aircraft. The series began in 1956 and Aurora added new kits into the early 1960s. The line proved incredibly popular, so these kits were included in the 'mold upgrade' in the 1970s before Aurora went out of business.
