Original issue hardbox dated 1961. This model is part of a very popular and successful line of 1/48 World War II kits that Monogram began issuing in the early 1960s and continued to do so into the 1980s. Features folding wings, optional position landing gear, under-wing tanks, rotating propeller & wheels, pilot + one ground crew member and more. Molded in correct gloss blue, black and clear plastic. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. The decals are flat and 100% intact but NOTE: they have typical age micro-cracking.

First issue hardbox from 1959. This is a long-time favorite in the Monogram 1/48 WWII aircraft line because the fit and finish is excellent, it is molded in a dark sea blue, black & clear, has a realistic appearance and has great action features. Includes operating dive brakes, trigger released center bomb, retracting/extending landing gear, removable rear canopy, rear machine gun that elevates and rotates, pilot and gunner figure and also includes figures of the LSO (landing signal officer), armorer, 4 bombs, bomb cart, and LSO wind screen. It has been inventoried 100% complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. There is no assembly but NOTE: the gunner's uniform is painted tan. There is no other painting.

1960 issue of the rare "Whip Fly" hardbox series. Tom Kelly did the "Action" photos for this series. Whip-Fly kits contain the aircraft model with nose ballast, a metal control ring, 12 feet of control line and a control handle... and in this case, colored plastic streamers. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The back of the instructions gives the user important tips about whip flying and a paragraph on calculating 'How Fast Will It Go?' The long side of the box shows the complete Whip-Fly series with the action box art. Included are H151 F9F-8 Cougar, H152 F-84F, H153 F-89D Scorpion, H154 F8U-1 Crusader, H155 F-39 Airacobra and H156 F-101A Voodoo. Although not listed yet, there was also a Whip-Fly Canberra, F-106 and Yak-25 Flashlight. The Whip-Fly series seemed like a good idea...at first. Revell quickly realized that spinning heavily-ballasted, sharp objects at dizzying speeds near groups of children was not the best plan; the series was quickly discontinued.
